The edit on the empire site wasnt working for some people (including me) so i found this:

I wasn't impressed at all to be honest. The music really didn't do it for me, the skiing was the same as always and the filming wasn't that great. The pictures were pretty good though. It seemed like they were going for an artsy perspective but didn't really hit it.
 
He needs someone to write his monologues for him, nice try but ehhhhh, but the rest of the vid was still jaw dropping.
 
I beg to differ. I think it shows a different side to Simon. The skiing, cinematography, and photography were blended together perfectly and it made for a great segment.

 
I agree. That was an enjoyable watch and the way the photos were integrated into the movie was dope (PS. some steller pics from whoever simons camera guy is, the heli shot near the end was dope). plus simon was throwing down some really cool shit.
 
the tricks were a little repetetive, but other than that i liked it a lot. the music was fucking bomb....if anyone has the idea soundtrack or any other h-mob, i would really appreciate it if they hooked me up with it.
 
really..i actually thought this was pretty amazing not just because it simon but the other edits just showed the photos at the end...it wasn't that smooth but in simons edit they integrated it into the edit and so the pictures(which we amazing so to say the least) helped create a story. Also those paragliding shots were absolutely dope... i don't remember seeing anyone do that before but IMO it had such a great effect. As for tricks...yes we have seen it all before but all the JOSS stuff was huge. Anyways IMO.
 
i thought it was well put together but the music could've been a little more attention grabbing, its my least favorite of the joss edits so far

 
Life of Ryan anyone. To me that's what the beginning sounded like. But the skiing video and photos were all sick.
 
i agree...except it was sammy that did the paragliding shots, those were just heli shots. but ya simons edit was sick, all the editing, filming and music was dope let alone the skiing
 
everything about that edit was dope. The only thing I don't like is the over-tweaked mute grabs, IMO they don't look that good, but still im not gonna talk shit that was amazing, the high safety he puts in those slooooooow spins make me cream my pants and the cork 3s are ridiculous.
 
I liked everything but the talking...it sounded like some bullshitted assignment I would write for school in 10 minutes. Kinda cliche and not real insightful at all. I still liked the edit though
 
That is definitly something that gets me about simons pipe and park skiing, hes gotta start getting those 7s 9s and 10s both ways, there was only 1 right side spin in that hole video
 
i really enjoyed it..although yes he does need more right spins..i really liked the vibe of it..all artsy and stuff..the dialog in the beginning was cliche but ehh i like it..
 
Thats exactly what i was thinkin when i was listening to it, it seemed a little too dramatic to go into a church and take pictures in there while recited what sounded like something a young high school student wrote trying to be deep and sentimental, i duno it just really fuckin annoyed me and while the rest of the edit was sick it gave me a bad perspective from the get go
 
agreed....i thought the song was mellow and laid back like the edit was....and to the haters who say he can only spin one way, lets see you throw a cork 3 over that JOI style jump...i bet he did a bunch of right side spins except only the best shots got in the edit and his right side spins aren't dialed like his lefts are...his right side spins are better than mine will be ever so im not complaining
 
anyone know where to see the rest of the edits? or have they not been released yet or something.....
 
IMO I was sorta thinkin the same thing from yauch. Simon is very loose with his skis, sorta like PK. I wouldnt say he went to SCHOOL , but he certainly had style sorta like pk's, just not tweaked.

the opening shit in a church ? what the fuck do i give a shit about his religion, he skis and i ski and thats what i want to see is some one skiing.

fuck his religous image. it makes him look like a fag. what next is he going to tell every one that a preist touched him. i dont give a flying fuck about his christain belifes and he should not try and share them with the world.

dumont is one of the greatest skiers who ever lived... but this whole image is too fucking gay for words..

i mean if he was jewish would u think it was ok to see him all done up ready to go pray.. and sitting in a temple getting religous for the camera..

the point is they could have looked at any aspect of his life and they chose some religous bull shit

he needs a writer to hand him a script

also where are all the other videos from that comp.

^^ Yeah, being in a church and talking about how fortunate you are to be one of the top skiers and how you're able to get paid to do what you love it pretty retarded, right?

I mean seriously Simon, you should have kept it real and went to the ghetto and talked about how fuckin baggy your clothes are because we all know that's where skiings roots are.

I understand someone might like a song, but forreal switch it up.

Maybe I should turn my volume up or get my ears checked because I never heard religion discussed once.
