stating in the live stream he's stoked nick gopepper was using poles "we're skiers we love poles"

we're freeskiers we do what we want speak for yourself I hate poles.
 
Yea what a dick! I say we burn him at the stake and make sure he never skis again! How dare him generalize that we all like using poles, that's a sin!
 
honestly who cares? if you use poles, great. if you dont, awesome. the use of poles or not using poles are such a small part of freeskiing.
 
OP doesnt represent skiing well. Dumont spent a ton of time, money, and energy putting this awesome comp on that is the ONLY east coast Freeski event of note and you find some fucking retarded thing to hate on?

Is it cool to make a EC comp and then invite Olympic/Xgames skiers to compete against local EC kids? No. It makes it a comp on the East Coast, not an East Coast comp. Two extremely different things. To be fair only you are making it out to be an EC comp.

Last I checked Maine is about as East Coast as it gets.

This comp gives EC up and comers with little to no lunch money a chance to prove themselves against the big dogs. It's an open format where anyone can try their best to qualify to complete against pros in the semifinals. The top three from the previous year join the party in the finals. it just so happened that last year's podium were the same guys as the olympic slope podium.

Do orange named skier fags know it all? Obviously.

But really he's just an awkward announcer who's uncomfortable with silence, that's all.
 
Dude that used to bee one of the raddest parts about the us open back in the day. Unknowns competing with pros made for some huge breakthroughs
 
As much talent the EC has it lacks parks on the same level parks as Breck, PC, and KeyStone. That is a statement that any skier fag can agree with.

EC up and comers don't live in the same world as the big dogs making the playing field unevenly stacked against them. I'm not saying that a kid from the East has no chance against an Olympic skier, and to be honest that would be wild if we saw an upset like that.

I'm saying that any skier fag can see the difference between the best EC kids battling it out for a big cash prize at Sunday River, vs the best EC kids battling against people who just competed in the Olympics. Thats why events like the EC open, Mount Snow Open, and Vermont Open killed it. Having the US open in the EC was at different time in skiing when the playing field between the east and west parks didn't have such a gap. We are in 2014 now not 2004 and things have gone nuclear.

I was never hating on this comp I was hating on the crazy comment left by the person that I quoted. I wish bigger events like this happened in the east its a huge percent of the freeski population that overlooked in many ways.

 
andy! YOU should put on an event with jumps that arent 55 feet and aerialistic, only tricks that are free from the norm style shall be awarded.

It sucks when a pro acts like a jealous child and people accept his assinine post as fact.

His post was absolutely ludicris and full of hate, yet his whole schtick is supposed to be "creativity" and "everyone everywhere have fun". It turns out, if your vision of skiing doesnt match his, you are wasting your time.

He implied simon didnt spend much time organizing and putting on his own event, and then went on to say the event wasnt cool because it brought the best ams from the east coast together with the best pros.

What would be cool? a wizard trick rail jam with a ride on box? cool. Why the fuck doesnt he spend his own time and money and put on his own event instead of hating on someone else's creation? We all know the answer to that though.
 
Andy isn't coming off as bitter... he's purely just voicing his opinion and if that pisses you off then that's your own opinion. I think the dumont cup should have a second lot of prize money and a podium for the ams so people like me can see who they are.

I dont see anything here that makes me seam like a dick towards anyone other then Cali man. And really looking into what he was tossing around at OP it was mild in comparison. Nothing is suggesting I'm jealous of Dumont, other pros, or really anything.

I'm also sorry for using too many questions. I dont know what I have been watching that made me think like that but it might have to do with the 50+ X Files episodes I have seen in the last month and a half.

Also Thugsteez this is true and its sick. However it would have been much harder for him to do that if he was only skiing in the mid west the last X amount of years. The EC and mid west breed talent and great skiers but almost all of them end up moving to the west.

Next time I will listen to my cat and not post because it creates something... Well... Dumb. And retarded arguments where things are taken out of context unless they are literally broken down so much that the point can't be confused.

Its sucks because people should share views so we aren't turned into a homogenized culture or left with comments like, "skier fag".

Going back to watch more X Files now. Hope the smoking man is in this one.

what is cool about competing against olympians like that? The point Simon had made initially was to give the EC kids a chance. How the fuck will this be giving them a chance when a large majority of sponsor scouts will only go to the finals and semis because they dont see the point in spending time watching the sub par groups. They want to see the best of that comp and that is in the finals rounds. When you invite WC pros then those finals and semi's spots are taken up and they don't actually get a chance to shine.

I personally love this event but its true that the initial goal of this comp has disappeared and it is no longer a comp for east coast people in reality since people from all over the world are traveling there to compete.

Not best explanation because I am fucked up right now and cant think straight but I think you get the idea

So basically you resent that dumont created the only skiing event on the east coast with any kind of exposure and then proceeded to invite superpros...AND up and comers from the east.

What should he have done?

Only invite superpros? in which case no east coasters get to participate.

Or should he have only invited up and coming ams? in which case there would be no big sponsors or exposure defeating the whole purpose of the dumont cup- to have a big time comp out on the east coast.

Youre right though, what was dumont thinking giving deserving kids from the east an oportunity to ski with and against the best skiers out there. I mean god knows that skiing with people better than you certainly doesnt help you progress, or increase your passion for the sport. nope. Moral of the story: either dumb down the competition to "east coast standards", or make it extra exclusive to only superpros. dont ever allow them to ski together. give an up an comer a chance to go against the big boys?...no way jose!

Are you dense? you should go back to watching the xfiles, cause thats the only place where your logic might make sense.
 
Dude you've taken everything so out of contex just to win your own argument. Andy knows 100 times more than you do in freeskiing. So i wouldn't doubt his knowledge...

do you think it was right to shit on dumonts competition? to shit all over his hard work? to shit on his legacy event? especially someone 100 times more important to freeskiing than anyone from TC?
