Dumont Cup course:

– 85’ Step Up Jump

– 80’ Step Down (It’s easy to spot since it is higher than the lift.)

– Up rail to 50 ft gap

– 15 ft gap to flat down rail

– The Sunday River / Red Bull Staircase

... thats some big shit

I seriously doubt this, seeing as the event descriptions was a jump, into a quarterpipe, into a rail hit.
But if its legit, then I am going to die tomorrow. Holy fuck this is going to be huge.

There's gonna be live broadcast on Freeskier.com too! Hopefully they continue this event in the years to come. I saw them preparing to build the jumps when I was at the River the other day. It was massive. I just hope no one wrecks themselves on the course.

Athlete snowmobile shuttle?DOPE

glad i didn't sign up. i knew dumont would do something crazy. looks fucking sick though. can't wait to watch.

I am surprised a comp open to ANYONE would have jumps so large. But i mean should be fun to watch

the athlete snowmobile shuttle will prolly be for finals only. and everyone saying thats big for an open event, look at events like aspen open and nao. same size jumps if not bigger. still looks like a dope comp.

It says on the red bull site that this is a pro level event with pro level sized features, and to be comfortable hitting them. I think people had fair warning.

I would be very surprised if those jumps get past 60. They may say they are 80, but that isn't lip to knuckle, it could be 80 lip to sweet spot, but 80 is big for EC...

So we just finnished the first day... the 1st jump measures about 60, with a HUGE takeoff and it is a massive stepdown. The second jump requires you to POINT it in, and it can easily be taken to 90 feet. To knuckle is at least 75 feet.

This shit is huge.

Do not underestimate the east coast. May be exagerated, but may not. Sunday River puts out a great park most years, and they just might pull it off, especially with dumont's help. Then again, I guess you're right, the world record qp hit last year wasn't that big.
