Dukes versus barons?

so i just bought a pair of dukes for super cheap, less than the barons that they didnt have in stock. the guy selling them to me said i shouldnt get them because i dont weigh much, and im not a super aggressive skier. he gave me the impression that they wouldnt release properly or at all because im at the bottom of the DIN range (6-7). and im 5.9, 135, and enjoy having intact knee tendons.

should i trade in the dukes for a pair of barons?

so it isnt a problem to have them at the bottom of the range? he told me that because the release spring wasnt comprssed, it wouldnt release correctly, he made it seem like it was reckless or risky. so i should be fine?

I am not commenting on that, but I am saying you are 135lbs now, but you will only get more muscular as you get older. Or fatter.

You don't normally stay a twig.

For this season, Barons would probably be better, and also lighter. But if you keep growing, which you will, then Dukes should be fine. Ive also heard that its not good to have the DIN less or more than about 2 away from the max/min. Dont know if this is true, just relaying information. If you can trade them in for this season, I would probably do it in the interest of knees.
