Why are ski boots still all flat at the bottom so you walk all stupid? Snowboarding boots have progressed to being real shoes, with treds and everything, but ski boots insist on being retarted looking. I understand that ski boots need to have the clips for the toe and heel binding lock, but i dont understand why you can just design the boots and bindings so that you can have a normal working shoe. I love skiing, the only thing i have against it are the dumbfucking boots.

 
ski boots arent made for walking. they are designed to work best when skiing. sounds like you need to get some uggs and a fur coat and sit in the lodge with a mochachino while your boyfriend rides his mondoboard. stop complaining and ski.

the reason they are stiff is for support. skiers dont click in the same as a snowboarder. also a snowboard is all 1 piece and skies are separate.

ever tried skiing with a boot 2 sizes too big?

I know they have to be stiff for the support, but i dont understand why they cant just curve the bottoms of the boots like how shoes are. Like how running shoes are curled with a heel and an arch and stuff, like that

 
I am thinking. If it had a rounder, walk-friendly bottom, then those notches would just have to be placed further up (up being like when your standing up kind of up) this just means that the bindings would have to have those notches a little higher off the top of the ski. I dont see how it would really affect performance that much other than having a little heavier binding.

How would u need risers? the bottom of your boot could still touch the ski, its just that the binding would attach slightly higher up

 
you must be like 8 because everybody know the farther you move the contact points away from eavh other the high the torque. so when you move the heel up you put a lot more torque on the point where the binding attaches to the ski. most skis are not built to handle that kinda of stress. also if you rail the heel of the boot the lug goes up also which means there would have to be 2 different binding standards. Your little inconvience would screw the entire ski indtudty and not be cehap doing it.

The boot you're decribing would destroy performance. You think you're the first one to think of this? Believe me, if the ski companies thought they could make money off this, they would have already done it--and people would buy them, especially dumbfuck Texan-tuckers. 'Gee, Billybob, this boot sure is comfortable. Don't ski worth a damn but who cares.'

Only problem is the engery transfer would be fucked, the bindings would have to be made way stronger, and they would be way harder to manufacture than the current style of boots.

My biggest question for you is why the fuck do you think they need to flex? There is no purpose. Even if you can arch your foot, it won't matter: YOU HAVE A FUCKING BOARD STRAPPED UNDERNEATH YOUR FOOT.

Ski boots are functional. They're not designed for walking. They're designed for skiing.

a fucking round boot? you must be an idiot. that would be ten times harder to walk in. it would be like two rocking chairs on your feet. you'd fall all over the place. and if you can't walk normally in ski boots, you're handicapped you schmuck.

Instead of walking, you should take the lifts, there a little more $, but it's worth it, they go up the mt- you must have seen them

perhaps you can attach a thick plate to the bottom of your easy striders and snap in, go really fast and get tangled in your laces. what a horrible idea, good for doctors tho, there'd be a lot of ankle injuries and shit like that.

This has already been invented dude, in every boot made right now actually. Here's what you do, you take those bindings on your boot and undo them. Ever think of trying that buddy?

i think salomon made a rental boot that had rubber sole (hehe) but only the toe and heel were rubber, and you walk all funny because the sole doesnt flex

besides a round bottom wouldn't help when you walk you touch your heel down first not the center of your foot and then your foot bends at your toes so to make it easier to walk in you would have to make boots flex crazy amounts in the middle of the boot think about things before you post and embarrass yourself
