Skrillex as most of us may know got nominated for a grammy tonight. He is a dubstep artist.

Dubstep what is it? oh i don't know a series of digitized computerized noises that make kids go crazy. thats what.
Where can i hear this music? dubstep

its on a buick comercial, a go pro comercial, video game comercials, its in video games, gears of war has dubstep playing on computer screens inside the game,
dupstep has grown exponentially with bitches
now popular music sounds more and more electronic noises and drops in songs by popular artist black eyed peas,
Skrillex will win the grammys then next year all the new artists and albums will be electronic then itll become the next beatle mania but with dubstep (which we will proceed to call holophonic drugs from now on) holophonic drugs aka dubstep will be played all over to billions of people. but the government inserts compuerized subliminal messages in the sounds and people will do some crazy shit.

Electronic influenced music genres are nothing new. It's just that society is finally letting teeny-pop die out and catching up with the rest of the civilized world.
 
Heh you're kind of right. They've been using a lot of autotune and loops for a long time, this is just embracing it I guess. I think dubstep is like any genre: when it goes mainstream and gets super popular, we start to see a lot of people doing it, and doing it really badly. And those people get really rich for some reason...
 
Go listen to Benga, Skream + Coki - That's the origins of Dubstep, those three are pretty much who started it, they took Garage influence and made 'Dubstep' which at the time was what Benga described as '140 BPM with bass'. It all came out of the UK, and originally Bristol. The US is making it blow up big time though. With artists such as Skrillex. Much love to Dubstep. It's blown up this last year, so so so much.
 
If one more person tries to "school" me on what dubstep really is you can stop. I love dubstep... real dubstep... and i hate skrillex but he is still considered dubstep so whatever. He has a grammy nod and it's retarded
 
You can't really define dubstep these days, I was just saying what the origins were. You just get different variations now. Personally, I couldn't give a fuck what genre it is as long as it sounds good.
 
Um, no. They, and the DMZ crew came in about 04, 05. If you want the true godfathers check out Hatcha, Darkwan, El-b (Horsepower in general), Kode9, Youngsta etc. And no it did not originate in Bristol. Croydon takes that title. You're talking out your ass kiddo.
 
calling skrillex a dubstep artist is like calling mac miller rapper. is anyone catching on to this yet? what skrillex makes in a sub-genre of dubstep but more shity.
 
Sonny moore(skrillex) is actually a front man for John Lennon, who did not actually die but is stationed on the moon, sending dubstep frequencies to earth where skrillex and the Gov't receive and broadcast it.

That's why we never landed on the moon(it was a conspiracy), because the insane bass eminating from the moon blew up any shuttle (Ie. Discovery)that tried to get near. I'd suggest wearing tin hats to protect yourself from the bass:

I am officially old, because it all sounds like shit. Especially dubstep. I was at the Level 1 premier, and Matt Harvey spun dubstep for about two hours. I wanted to leave, it was absolutely miserable.

i take my truck out 4 wheeling while listening to skrillex, mainly because it is so wild, that my balls grow literally 10 sizes making my discretion for my own life get skrillexed away.
 
This. The reason dubstep, as a genre, has been given such a negative connotation is because so many people do it so badly. I produce electronic music, and yes wobbles are sometimes a part of it, but I refrain from calling it dubstep because so many people hate that word thanks to bad dubstep artists.

Skrillex is really good live from what I hear. And if Srillex wins a Grammy, so what? Obama won a Nobel just for being black and president.
