Dubstep Can be beautiful - Ferro Montanino

whether you like skrillex or not, you have to respect him for the fact that he went from screaming for From First to Last, then went that settled down, he took a 180 degree turn to become a successful dubstep artist..all before the age of 22.

I didn't even know that until now, the influences definitely show in his music though. I had a feeling he was a metalhead turned DJ or something.

I respect him because he is making music he likes (Not Confirmed). thats about all I am going to say about Skrillex. My point was it is not beautiful. The piano cover is nice though. Kinda sounds like a disney song.

Oh and I wouldn't exactly call it a 180 degree turn...

point of thread was to show that someone took a dubstep song and played it with a different instrument making it beautiful, not that the original skrillex song was beautiful haha

Most producers and DJ's in the buisness never started out as what they are

Borgore: Death Metal

The Toxic Avenger: Punk

Steve Aoki- Punk

A-Trak- Major Hip Hop staple

Jesse Keeler- Death From Above 1979

Its pretty cool that in the end they all come together

all i have to say is from first to last is potentially the worst band of all time and i fucking hate sonny moore, but climbing to the top of the light-holding-beam spiel and stage diving from like 20 feet up was absolutely amazing.

i dont like skirllex, he doesn't seem genuine plus who would wanna listen to music made by some one who looks like this, he makes brostep for all the rich frat faggots at private schools

lax bros have ruined skrillex for me

This may not technically be dubstep because it is the original, but I think sound-wise it is pretty much the chillest dubstep ever made. Just a cool fact but GHOST, the producer, is only 15 years old and Misty Miller, who did the vocals, was only 16 when they made this song.

+kk

got a chance to see them a few weeks ago and they blew my mind. Hands down best dubstep concert I went to this semester (and I think I went to about 10 or so)

he's the definition of sell-out. I went on this rant the first time somebody posted a skrillex thread. first, success once you already have an "in" to the industry is nothing surprising. 22 is also not that early for successful musicians, especially in electronic music. most of the shit that's popular now is produced by people who are under 25, many of who are under 22, 20 or even 18. kid's get signed before they drop out of high school on a regular basis. very rarely do artists who haven't made it before they are 25 make it later in popular music.

as for Sonny Moore/Skrillex, he is one of these musicians that are in it for the money, who hop from "it" genre to "it" genre for paychecks. he has gone from screamo, to the ambient shit that was in for less time than ed hardy, to dubstep, which is the current fad genre that'll be done by mid-late 2011, and I'll bet you anything that he'll hop onto the next trend-train to money-town as soon as he has the chance.

also to the guy above who went on a rant about dubstep being listened to by bros, you have a fucking Rock and Republic icon. that is the definition of bro denim. explain the paradox please.
