Dubai plans to build the worlds largest indoor ski slope, again

The amount of energy which will be needed to run this ski slope in Dubai is another part of the reason why we will be seeing more and more indoor resorts.

Note: I am obviously aware that Dubai would never have a ski resort regardless of global warming.

Couldn't agree more. Way to waste all that cash you make from oil and turn it into something that only fuels the problem, Dubai. Bravo.

I wish they'd invest some of that money into saving our planet.
 
So it will have roughly 600 feet to 700 feet vertical? Holy fuck, welcome to Ontario.

I'm basing height off a constant 8.5 to 10 degree angle (similar to their current slope).

Dubai could be the worst possible example of any wealth being shared and its all corrupt anyway. There's a lot of people basically slaves getting paid jack shit. Getting a couple lifties isn't going to help. Also, building a ski resort in the middle east is a waste of money and resources.
 
Probably one of the best things that can happen for indoor buildings. At least the engineers designing it will have a challenge for once. All that tax free skiing, pretty awesome to be able to ski in the desert besides the OG sandboarding.
 
I totally agree that this is bad for the environment, but at the same time its spreading the sport we all love. If it doesn't happen its ok for us in dubai because we already have one, lol.

The only problem is that its so powerful that the bomber would be blown up by the bomb amd an ICBM can hardly take it. But its a solid idea so we can over all lower the earth temp and live a real life metro 2033/last light

Kind of ridiculous to be like "fuck this it's contributing to global warming" when just turning the lifts at a handful of other resorts each season probably contributes just as much CO2 to the atmosphere.

I don't think I will ever go, but it's kind of neat I guess.

King abdula (or whatever tf his name is) is gonna crap himself before anyone of us. Its gonna go from a desert to an oven ou there and he is gonna have to worry about his palm tree islands sinking. I just need to worry that its gonna become increasingly hard to wade in my creek when I'm out looking for trout.
