Well looks like a dandy time to me but I would rather ski mountains, they got a park, seeing is that there wont be to much powder??

Yeah I got that in an email from a friend.

It was followed with the phrase..

'Any you think oils gonna get cheaper anytime soon?'

ive been to that place - they claim to have a park & a 70 ft pipe, but they only have a 10ft box & a little jump.

its pretty decent for an indoor place.

Does anyone else think its ironic that the region producing the most oil is also the one pushing indoor skiing the hardest?

no no not really.

theyre rich, so they do it.

oh & that place is the home of the worlds slowest chairlift: 10 minutes up, 12 seconddown. oh yeah.

that doesn't compare to some of the things they find to waste money on over there. at least it's getting people on skis. i saw a show about a club of rich guys in Kuwait who own Ferrari F430 Challenges and pay people to race them so they can watch. they just sit around and watch other people race their cars. what the fuck?

when you have a country filled with people that have too much money that they dont know what do with it then make things like this....they need those here in the states so we can ski in july and august

I don't know if it's been built already, or if the project ended up getting deserted.. But vegas was supposed to have a huge indoor skiing facility built into a caved/underground area.

Was going to be designed with pro athletes in mind as a way for them to train on jumps/pipe/rails in the off-season so there was going to be a pretty nice park built in it.

no idea whatever happened to it. The project might've got shut down, becuase I know there were a few agencies fighting it.

There are more than one indoorski places in Europe. There a a couple in the UK, Holland has like 6 of them (including the largest in the world), Belgium has an indoor halfpipe and is also building the largest in the world (100.000m2) and france and spain have one.

Indoorparks aren't quite big though, because of the lack of space, this one is in holland http://62.100.53.114/view/indexFrame.shtml (yes, that's the BigAirbag thingy in the upper right)

hahahaha i saw the show on the discovery channel about that place, pretty amazing considering how big it is and how much work went into it.
