if anyone is thinking about going to university of denver. dont. it sucks dick. its like highschool all over again and they boast theyre a good school but theyre really not . look into it. god damn it sucks . go to boulder thats a real fucking school

you think boulder isnt similar to DU in terms of HS feel? wow

all college is like HS cause everyone is new and young and just there to have fun!

i cant stand american college. the big schools do nothing to educate you.

Also, not defending any school.

College is what you make out of it. You can fuck around and do nothing...or you can take the hardest classes and challenge yourself; it's like that at any school.

Just because you go to school with a high/low reputation doesn't mean you have to conform to the status quo of the school.

There are a good amount of stupid and ignorant people, but where in the US will you find anything different?
And the administration makes some questionable decisions. But other than that, you will find some real sick people and the professors make every penny my family pays worth it.

DU is a great school. And usually if you are going to rip on an institution of higher learning, you would try to at least sound mature or halfway intelligent.

Are you kidding? Useless majors will always be useless regardless of how much time and money you sink into them. In the end you're still just another guy with an arts or business degree.

Science, Math, and Engineering are actually useful, even with just an undergrad degree you're getting employed and making decent money. Yes, they're far more challenging but it show's that you're not just another mongoloid.

DU rejected me, so yes they do suck dick simply for that reason. Plus the people who interviewed me where the most stuck up sacks of crap id ever met. so yeah fuck DU.

I guess I was raised being told not to settle into any 9 to 5 just because of the paycheck. If you become highly skilled in your area of interest there's no way you won't end up with a job you absolutely love.

The rest of your life is a long time, no need to force yourself to like the job you have.

def. true he is just saying that with a psychology degree or equivalent your on the fast track to 7-11 management and thats about it.

The bottom line is college is what you make of it. I'm a freshman and all last semester I thought I had made the wrong decision in where I decided to go. What I didn't realize was that when I wasn't worrying about my decision I was actually having a really good time and getting an excellent education.

That's because all the fuck up degrees are in Liberal Arts. You don't see the person who screwed up all through highschool then go on to be a math major or some other high science.

And the reason people don't do shit with psychology degrees is because most of the people who are in psychology were C students in highschool and took one psych class and thought it was kinda interesting. I'm getting a dual major in psych and management and I'll be able to get pretty much whatever job I want coming out of school. Except I'll go to grad school anyway.

My dad taught there for a few years in the honors program. He left in disgust after they slashed the honors course offerings and told him to teach a 100+ person lecture hall class. Go to DU and you see hella expensive copper sheathing, a sick gym, and no real classes. This is a place where the majority of people were sent there to get inflated grades and go work at daddy's company. Go to CU, better classes and better faculty for a fraction of the cost.

That's heartwarming and simple minded. I guess that no one who majors in Civil Engineering, like me for example, enjoys the work they do.

Your statement was foolish and broad, no need to defend it.

I didn't say shit about Engineering. Don't be a bitch about this and get all hurt because I've offended your degree somehow. You take hard math classes and you're gonna change the world someday with a cool new bridge boohoo.

I know a fuck ton of people who had no damn clue what engineering was before they went to college. They just picked that major because they were good at math and physics and someone told them they could make 60k coming out of college. What a boring way to start the rest of your life. Aiming for "comfortable."

Really? Because in reality two degrees with a great GPA out of one of the top 100 schools in the world can pretty much get me into any grad school I want.

for sure college is what you make of it. I went to DU for fall quarter it was a blast as far as the social environment but jesus i can't believe how much im paying for the classes i took last fal. it did sort of feel like high school education. hopefully it gets better next year but im definatley thinking about CU. DU also revolves around Greek life a shitload.

haha this thread cracks me up, yeah sure DU is not for everyone but i personally love it. CU is fun for partying but if you like small classes and professors that actually know who you are DU is way better. plus its super easy to stack your classes on mon-weds so you can shred all the time. there are plenty of really cool people, really nice facilities plus denver offers tons of stuff to do.

that was me senior year, halfway thru first semester realized i wanted to get into a school for professional golf management, and did, and now im going to have a badass job my whole life, instead of a decent money, boring ass(imo) engineering job

THIS.
just havent learned anything at DU that i havent learned in highschool . there are more graduate students than there are more undergrad which tells you they concentrate on their graduate program more. yea DU is pretty fun socially... unless you have ever been to like a boulder or asu then its not that fun ... however the undergrad program is a joke for the amount of money you pay. youre paying for a degree from a mediocre school in the west and a shitty reputation school in the east and not an education.

i forget what your major is dan, but I definitely learned a lot in my Geography/Environmental Science Major. sounds like you're just bitter because you don't like your major.
