Dry bases

No just continue to let them dry out, it will provide with improved rail performance and will work better all over.

But seriously, yes wax them or else you'll have a trash pair of skis. Any all temp wax will work fine, might want to wax and leave the wax on over the summer to protect the bases then scrap off in the beginning of the season.

Obviously it depends on how much you are skiing.. However the more often you wax the stronger your bases will be and the longer they will last.

Yeah how often you need to wax depends on a fe factors. How often you ski, the condition of the snow, the ambient temp and of course how much you care about your skis.

The more you wax the better the base will be and the more durable it will be. Also you will find a big improvement in performance if you are using the correct type of wax for the conditions your skiing.

When I was skiing 4-5 times a week I would wax them t least once a week. But this was just me having a workshop at work at my disposale. You could defiantly get away with waxing less but if you have the time you will find a huge improvement if you can do it often.

Also if your bases are super dry now, you may cruelly need a full base grind to recondition the base. If you let bases fully dry they can get burnt and will not accept wax well. If this happens you can have the top layer ground off and have them restructured too. If your not sure take them to a shop and have a tech look at them for you.

Well like I said take them to a shop and have a tech see if you just need a wax or if you need a grind too. Try to wax any time you feel them get a but slower is good practice if you don't know what to look for.

Ok well in that case tale them in and have the tech see if they need a grind. If he just thinks they need a wax you will be goo to do it at home. If they need a grind though that will need to be done in a shop as you can't do that at home

get on the wax!

doesn't really matter what type of wax you go with. if you're just looking to keep the bases from drying out, use a universal wax. it won't give you perfect fast skis but it will definitely be better than nothing and add some life to your bases. universal wax is also less expensive than LF or HF race waxes
