This friday something tragic happend, a few of my good friends were driving home from the movies, when a drunk driver in a truck crashed into them, one is dead, the other is currently in critical condition with brain damage, and a third has countless broken bones. I know you all have heard this before but I beg of you to not drink and drive, the effects are irreversible, and please, that extra change in your pocket, donate it somewhere it can be used

thanks

That sucks dude. i hope that guy get fucking locked up for a long time, considering he ruined a bunch of peoples lives.

yeah driving drunk is fucking gay. take a fucking cab or sleep in your car.

One tihng that is gay if your drunk and have no way at all to get home, so you decide to sleep in you car you can be charged. I think thats the most fucking stupid thng ever, cause your like doing something smart by not driving but they can still fucking charge you. It happened to someone i know. and they didn't even have the keys on them.

rip...and best of luck to the others...i've lost a friend already in the last month...its a shame to hear of more so soon...condolances to friends and family

also there is a law that if u are drunk and have car keys on you (even a house key attatched to car keys so u can get into ur house late at night) they can arrest and charge u for "attempt" to drive drunk. which i think is completely reduculous

you guys need to set an example as a generation that doesn't put up with the bull shit of drunk driving

it is soooo common in Calgary to drink and drive, more so then anywhere i've worked and travelled to in the world. partly due to a shitty transit system, money hungry taxi drivers, and red neck mentalites getting passed down generations.

it's up to your generation to change the attitudes and bring the message that it's a sure way to die or kill someone else.

don't ignore it when you here of a freind drinking, fukin cuss him out it's the only way this will change.

I'm way older then you guys and know to well of how many people drink and drive, to the point i don't drive after 11 on the weekends..to sketch.

very sorry to hear about your friends, sounds like he was a super cool dude.

man that is all soo true. Taxi drivers are fuckheads and transit shuts down at like 1. My friend's parents do it all the time and he knows it, thats retarded.

as much as people hate to admit it...most of us that drive have probably done it at one point or another to a certain degree...its not until things like this, people close to us being affected by it, that it hits home and regrets come out of the cracks...

its always hard to see somebody from the ns community go or hurting, let alone a close friend of some...im really sorry to hear it happened...but like said above, events like this should open our eyes wide to reality and start setting the good example for everyone

My thoughts and prayers are with you, your friends, and families, and everyone affected by this tragedy.

And yeah, don't drink and drive. It's NEVER worth it. Have a ride worked out before you go out.

My condolences switch_rodeo_900.

such a fucking pointless tragedy. and preventable. people seem to think they're invincible just because "nothing's happened yet." Fine, risk your own life all you want, but noone has the right to make that choice for anyone but themselves.

RIP Connor, you are loved and missed.

yea it was...truck was going down 17th to downtown and the car was crossing 17th on 37th going towwards the cage is what i have been told...if im wrong somebody correct

Yeah ive slept in my car before, but luckily i didnt get charged... but man i did it in September in a sleeping bag thats always in my trunk, and i was still fucking cold so i wont even consider doing it in winter

FUCK then i saw that happen. Jesus, I was in the wendys drive through with some friends trying to munch out and heard this huge slam, we drove by and there were all these people crouded around the cars yelling and we just kept driving cause i didnt want to see what happened.

other way around. truck was turning off 37th on to 17th and hit the car that was driving westbound on 17th through the intersection. the driver was leaving the rusty cage, was one of my buddies, has almost written off that same truck during the summer driving drunk and as much as i hate to say it cuz he's my friend, deserves everything he gets. pretty much everyone i know was there that night, i was in canmore luckily and didn't have to go through it firsthand. god bless the families of those kids the crash was completely unnecessary

Just an update, Johnathan has been released from the hospital and is doing well (still in a weelchair) and they are hopeful that mike will survive, as he started showing movements recently, but they are keeping him in an induced coma so that all his healing power can be aimed towards his brain, but he still may have to relearn to walk and talk again, thanks for all the great comments!

good to hear hes out of the hospital already and all the power to mike...really hope he pulls through alright

all the best

where were they all sitting in the car? and why is it that the drunk person driving never gets hurt! its fucking stupid

I Have no idea where mike or john were sitting, but connor was driving and got the worst of it, im guessing mike was in the passenger seat behind the drivers, and john was somewhere on the other side, because he was not injured as bad and was accually able to crawl his way out of the car
