OK, so i have read a bunch of messages on here today and it seems like 90% of them have some kid talking about how cool he is cause he does drugs. I have no problem with people doing drugs, but this isnt the high times webpage or something. Why do some of you feel the need to talk about how many drugs you do, do you have an insecurity and have to feel like a bad ass by talking about it. I am straightedge, 22 years old never done a drug or drank in my life but I dont go on here preaching to any of you about it. I am sick of reading subjects that start as one thing and turn into some moron talking about how blazed he was while doing such and such.

Any responses?

Hey, i agree. I got nothing against guys getting high, and tripped out, and whatever. But it does appear as if you are insecure about yourself, and it almost looks as if you need to taell everyone that you do lots of drugs, to make yourself seem cool. Seems like you are doing them to fit in and look cool, when if you are doing them, you should be doing them cause u like the feeling.

Just to clear things up, I used to do drugs, not naymore, but I used to. So I',m not just saying this cause I've never done them before.

I dont smoke dont do drugs but i will admit that i do drink but not heavly or often...

About the drugs.. its how the guys (and girls) are on this site and you just gotta ignore it and move on with your life. If it bugs you that much then find another ski site cause i doubt these guys are gonna change cause ur tired of reading about their drug induced high jinks!

I dont read the ones that have drug in the title, but a lot of ones that say something simple like cant we get along and stuff like that turn into something all about drugs. I dont care if you poison yourself but I am sick of you talking about it. Would you enjoy me posting about how much drugs suck on every message...or how about i post the negative effects of drug and alcohol on every post? wouldnt you get sick of reading that?

i think people draw too much of a line between people who do stuff and people who don't. i constantly get asked 'you sure you want to come? theres drinking!' whenever i want to go to parties or somethin at school, and thats just dumb. i go to parties a lot, and i have a ton of fun even tho i'm not drinking or doing anything else like everyone there. ill usually volunteer to be sober driver for my friends too, i dont have to but i want to make sure they are all safe and not worried about that. what people dont understand is that this doesnt have to be a fight between those who use and those who dont. i get along with most fine, and others should too.

Yea but there are just as many threads with the top ten guys talking about how sexy they are(like someone else brought up but i forget). And there are lots of mountain biking threads too, i dont bike at all so i dont read them or there are alot of threads on re occuring topics. People on here that do smoke dont just post only about smoking they also post about skiing and whatever, but yea some of their posts are about pot because they enjoy it just like you enjoy music. So whats the big deal, its that hard for you to read a thread, im a little sick of hearing everyone make homesexual jokes to eachother which got old after the second thread of that so just dont read it, get over it

 
I like to do lots of drugs while talking on NS. I am so insecure about myself so I talk about myself hitting the crackpipe all night long while I down a kegger all by myself. Then I like to smoke hash all by myself too, and get really fucked in the head. Then I smoke an ounce of dank chronic with opium sprinkled on top. Yeah everybody has pretty much already said my thoughts and other things ive posted. I dont even know what you people are talkign about though because nobody is sayign they are cool cuse they smoke pot, and even if they were saying that then just dont read it. this is like saying theres a bunch of threads about sex, but I don't have much of that so I think I better stop other people from posting it, yeah pretty gaddamn ridiculous. jesus christ, its a forum talk about whatever you want and quit your complaining about what other people have to say.

Talking about drugs doesn't bother me too much, except it gets annoying when you expect to read about (The Thread's Topic) and all you read is about pot. I occasionally drink and dont smoke and too me, it also seems like people are insecure about themselves anad are too worried about being a badass. I think all your asking is keep the talk about drugs in the threads about drugs and I totally agree with that!

um, if you were refrencing to me in the why cant we all get along thread i just made a simple like 4 word joke that had the word bong in it, and i thought it was outragous that it got deleated. i dont think i'm cool because i smoke weed, but it is a part of my life, and i somtimes post about it. and as for poisining my body, i'm sure you'v caused a lot more damage to your body skiing then i ever have smoking weed.

Hypocrit? why cause I posted I am edge? No i was making my point that I dont put in every single post I make that I am straight. Oh I used to have an icon that read 'sXe means I am better than YOU' and I got some complaints from people so I removed it even though it was totally a joke against all the kids that feel the need to have weed in their icons or their signature. I still have sXe as my icon just cause its less offensive and to me its still a statement against the weed symbols.

Why dont they make a whole forum dedicated to stoners where you guys can post all your brain numbing crap about how baked you are cause I am sick of trying to talk about skiing and only getting pot comments. I dont care that you got totally stoned then threw a corked 1440...post about your corked 1440. They have a forum for music and movies and stuff so thats where I talk about it. I also dont go on their telling everyone to go listen to Youth of Today, Minor Threat, Ten Yard Fight, Slapshot or any of the many other great edge bands. I just talk about tons of types of music. If anyone cares about edge music or hardcore I will name a million bands for you to check out. I know drug use is popular in the ski culture but i know a lot of straight kids who board and ski. And it seems like to me that its the 15 year old kid who smokes once a month that seems to run their mouth off about their drug use. I see it on the mountain a lot and it probably is the same on this thing. I agree with the sex thing but mainly cause I think its the same thing as the drug issue...I would place good money on it that half the kids who talk abbout their sexual adventures have never gotten laid.

The people that talk all the talk about drug use, sex, and ski ability are probably very lacking. If they say they got laid this weekend they wacked off a dozen times in reality. If they smoked an ounce they got a whiff of the old hippy guys smoking on the chair ahead of them on the lift. If they threw a switch rodeo 9 tail, they did a spread off a 10 foot table and cased it. I dont start posts bragging about how much sex I get from my girl. I dont lie and say i can stick a switch 9 cause i sure cant. And I dont come on here and say drugs suck. I am not even saying that now, its your life your decision and I respect that but I am saying to stop posting it on every friggin conversation.

I mean every music thread you get all defensive that it isnt punk its water downed ska and start classifying all the music into different categories and how were all wrong its really emo blah blah blah. Who cares about what category you think a certain band falls under? no one, so dont tell me about it everytime. Im not saying dont post your thoughts on music or what you think is a good band thats cool im just sick of you complaining us kids dont listen to real punk. i talk about drugs a lot, but i have never once said that 'i am cool' for getting fucked up all the time. Actually, it's almost the opposite. Drugs and partying has fucked up my life, and i've never hid that fact.

Drugs are a big part of some peoples life, sometimes its fun for them to talk about it, sometimes it inflates their self-esteem. Yeah it gets kinda pathetic and redundant sometimes but this is a free for all forum.

I have no problem with drugs as long as people do drugs for a reason. If people do drugs because they are bored or because they think it's 'cool', then that's not good enough of a reason as far as I'm concerned. But if people do drugs because they think it will help them find a higher state of consciencness (sp?) or because they simply want to see the world from a different point of view, then I think that's their perogative. I also think unsafe or addictive drugs are pointless to even use. In Austria, I think, they make escstasy and sell it legally but it's made safely and under strict rules of preparation. In any case, my point is that I think it's sad when people do drugs and drink and they they say 'Oh man, I was so wasted last night... it was so cool' because they are only doing that and saying that to feed off of reactions people give.

ya know, drugs arent the only way out of your problems... sure they can make the world seem great for awhile, but what you're doing is setting yourself up for more depression in the long run. im not trying to change lifestyles, its just that people that say drugs can do this and that for them instead of them having to lead a boring life, thats kind of stupid. because you cant cover up for that long. you're using drugs as an excuse for a boring life! there's other ways out! you know, get in your car go DO something instead of watching TV. you're not being FORCED to are you? well maybe you just dont want to take the time and want the easy way out? suit yourself, im just telling you youll crash and burn sooner or later. trust me.

but you can't say that drugs are the worst thing in the world and so you try to turn everone straight edge.

That's your opinion, I can't tell you that you're wrong, but I can say that I disagree with your opinion.

my view is that everyone is different, if you want to do them, then that's fine (to some extent) if you don't, then that's ok too. But you can't ever find which kind of person you are if you don't try it.

You can never find out who you are, only who you're not. So don't hate drugs when you haven't tried them. it's like living in a completely white town and hating black people. It's ignorance.

as long as you arent driving anywhere or doing excessive chronic addictive drugs i ahve no problem.. even eing an addict is fine to an extent.. but when u become crazy its too much u need help. but like some drugs put u on a different spin on the world (literally) so why not.

If you toke, good for you dude, its your lifestyle, nothing wrong with it at all. Straight Edge people, good for you too, its what you want. Both sides are ignorant of each other, I see nothing wrong with somebody toking, dropping acid, taking e, drinking, whatever. There isnt anything wrong with NOT doing those things either, but there is no need to force your views on others. That goes for both sides. im not talking shit on anybody! is it my fault that i care for people enough to hope they dont keel over one day from fucking OD? jesus christ you act like my parents totally sheltered and brainwashed me or something. im not going by someone else's opinion that drugs KILL you. i actually know people that had to go onto rehab because they did it casually then they couldnt stop and after awhile it caught up with them and they are half dead, half alive and cant even string a complete sentence together. why is everyone so BLIND to the fact that i'm NOT trying to 'change' their minds and get them onto a straight track with perfect life or some shit. i just like to voice my opinion on things that bother me. and DONT tell me what and what not to do cause it pisses me off and begins an argument such as this, and i never keep my mouth shut either. sorry if i offended anyone, i just had your well being in my mind... but guess you dont care either!
