Hello Athletes,

Spread the word! This year the US Halfpipe Grand Prix will be administering drug tests.

So to anyone who plans to compete in ski halfpipe at the Grand Prix, Copper Mountain December 8-10, know that drug testing will be administered at random and to the top 3 finishers.

For more information on FIS Anti-Doping rules, check out:
http://www.fis-ski.com/uk/medical/fisanti-doping/medicalantidoping/rulesandforms.html

*FIS World Championships in February will be administering drug tests as well for both ski halfpipe and ski slopestyle.

Please pass this information along to all athletes.

Have a great season,

from your friends at the AFP

lulz, you know the "how to pass a drug test tomorrow" threads are gonna get mysteriously bumped around competition time.

what if you have a medical card (california and colorado residents) and compete? are you allowed to test positive for reefer then?

Weed is prohibited.

S8. CANNABINOIDS

Natural or synthetic Δ9-tetrahydrocannabinol (THC) and THC-like cannabinoids

(e.g. hashish, marijuana, HU-210) are prohibited.

If we want skiing to be in the olympics, we'll also have to do get used to drug testing. And I doubt anyone will be able to get a free pass for cannabis with a doctors notice (atleast not if WADA is running the show, which they will be doing before and at olympics)

i feel like testing for any performance enhancing drug is a good thing to be doing. but pot? really? that is in no way performance enhancing.

NO.

but Jonny Mosely got around this, and that Canadian snowboarder in a fag suit... though that was in the stone age of 1998.

I disagree. We idolize pro skiiers and much of our sport and lifestyle revolves around these pros and the ski industry. Companies sponsor pros, we buy their products. We also ski in the styles of our favorite skiiers. What happens in the comp scene plays a huge role in how we ski. Its also the reason why there are so many people on this forum. Thats why drug tests are a real issue.
Personally I don't feel thc is a performance enhancing drug and shouldn't be tested for. Only known drugs to enhance performance should.

Are you calling me a bitch? Do you know me? Do you know my understanding of medical marijuana or federal jurisdiction? Didn't think so.

C'mon guys, I mean, we all know how much a performance enhancing drug weed is.
Im pretty sure piss tests for dope / weed are just put in place so you can make a big publicity stunt over nothing if a rider tests positive.
go fis

Its also illegal for California state officials to enforce a federal law when a state law directly contradicts it and California courts (where you get tried) enforce California laws, not federal ones.
That said there is no way in hell that a prescription would exempt you from the drug testing.

Well, strict enforcement of anti-doping rules is normal for all competition sports in europe. Not just the ones governed by FIS (and IOC when it comes to the olympics)

Exactly, weed shouldn't be tested for. Who honestly gives a fuck if a skier smokes weed and places in a major competition? More props to him/her.

no if they don't want you to smoke they don't want you to smoke. in wallmart in co if you fail even with a card they wont hire you

Why do you fucking care, it's not like any of you are going to be competing... They can make up any rule they want, and if it's no weed, then it's no weed. Stop complaining and get the fuck over it, you fucking weed obsessed 14 year olds are so obnoxious.

i think its broke as fuck there drug testing, like smokin tree is gona make you get any better. let the athletes do what they want

It's not fucking pot you have to watch for, it is shit like cough medicine and flu tablets. Most of that shit contains shit like pseudoephedrine etc. You get caught with that in your system and your fucked.
