exact same story here. I tried college at first and partied my way out. GI bill paid for me after the navy to go. I did not take it serious one bit prior to the service. I ended college on the Dean's List and even got a 4.0 last semester.

I went on and got a 2 year Electrical Technology degree from SUNY Orange and now I am a Network Engineer for Frontier
 
the way i look at it is this, there is an ever growing wage gap in this country and if you want to be on the more lucrative end, pick college. get the degree. in a way it really doesnt mater what degree it is either, because you will be that farther ahead than someone without the degree.

with that said, many people do not need a six or high five (haha) figure salary to enjoy life. as a wise man once said, "a man who loves his job will never work another day in his life"

my advice to you is this: pick something you are truly passionate about and pursue it. stay in college, get that degree and chase that dream
 
Dropped out after first year. Moved to whistler and got a job year round in a ski/bike shop. I do not make much but it is enough to support 120+ days of skiing, 80+ days of biking, and a bunch of surfing in between. Everybody has a different idea on what success is. For me just getting by while spending most of my days outdoors is success. But to do this you need to throw the idea of 'financial security' out the window. It is definitely not for everyone but what I have learned is you do not need a lot of money to live if you do not put value on material possessions.

PS This is completely a personal decision. Like others have said only you know what your idea of comfortable is. I'm just giving you my perspective.
 
Didn't read this thread either. OP is a fucking retard. Lol at dropping out of college and thinking anything good will come of it.
