is there any possible way i could drill little dimples into the toes of my drop kick pros so that i could use them as a touring boots, money is a little tight right now and ive been wanting some touring boots so that i can skin after the season ends.

Yes it’s possible but you prolly want metal inserts. It’s the type of thing that if you need to ask how to do it you probably shouldn’t.I would first find where pins need to go. Drill out a hole and thread+epoxy a bolt in. Cut the excess bolt away and drill a hole into it for the pin. I don’t tour so I don’t know the bolt size you would need.

id recommend sending them to CAST or someone else who can do that, its a game of millimeters to ensure that you put them in the right place and that they can hold. also you wouldn't be able to use full tech bindings with them, it would have to be something like CAST or a Shift or a Duke PT where you would be skiing downhill in a normal binding and not using the pins in the toe

I would honestly just get a frame style binding or day makers. It’s really not worth the hassle to get them adapted and they won’t hold up well even if you do

Saw a thread on Tetongravity like 10 years ago where someone cut the sole off of a pair of dynafits and attached them to a pair of full tilts. Personally would never do this but clearly this person was determined to get a pair of full tilt touring boots.

+1, Especially if you can find some cheaper used stuff as both daymakers and frame bindings have been around for a while now, and hybrid options like shift, CAST, and Duke PT are stealing the spotlight.

When I was broke in college I got daymakers and cheap skins and it served me well for years, albeit being heavier and more awkward. FWIW though, I still think this is the ideal setup for skinning somewhere to build and session a feature.

If you needed new boots, skis, and bindings anyways, it might be a different story with all the hybrid options available now, but that's a lotta $$$ for a whole new setup
