Driving

Anyone into racing/ long drives? we have a couple car enthusiasts at my school who have sdome some sick roads, including one up to the mountains in the summer. We also have a time trial challenge on a local hill, usually we have spotters at tht top and bottem on a walkie talkie, but heres a little video i did just for fun(not my fastest for sure).

Post any other videos of yourself or friends driving i guess is the point.

Im not in it for the speed (because i drive a 96 legacy wagon) but long drives are hard to beat. When ever there is a lot on my mind, a long solo drive lets me sort things out in my head and let me enjoy the sights. Very therapeutic.

agreed, after my girlfirend and i had been fighting then worked shit out i drove to seattle and around for like 2 hours at 3 am haha

One time in July of '02 went to work at 5 , waited tables til 10 came home took a shower and then drove straight thru from Steamboat to Whistler. Solo. Took me about 24 hours, but i was skiing the next day. I was gonna stop in Portland, then Seattle , then Vancouver, but after i made that far i decided to take it all the way in to Whistler. Prob not the smartest thing ever, I was semi hallucinating for the last 2 or 3 hours.

I drive a lot for work. Last year I drove from Edmonton to Saskatoon, picked up a sample south of town, delivered it to a lab in town, and then drove to Calgary. I put on roughly 1300km that day. Left at 5am, got home around 9:30

Drove from Kamloops to Nass Camp in Northern BC. No stops other than for diesel. 1200km in 12hrs. Fuck yeah.

Are you serious? Please don't tell me you think you're a 'car enthusiast' and drive your car how you did in that video with your left hand at 12 and holding the shifter the whole time. hahahahahahahah you're fucking dumb.

I can get in my truck and literally drive all day. my longest drive was over 3000km in 3 days. from dawson yukon to victoria BC with a few detours

i love driving, and driving fast... but i have a 98 legacy gt and i usually push it to the limit, but im saving for a new car and can't wait.

Also found THE dopest mountain roads near my local hill, so crazy it reminds me of tokyo drift, or fujimi kaido if anyone here plays forza.

he enjoys driving. in my book that makes him an enthusiast. just because you don't have perfect style in skiing doesn't make you any less of an enthusiast.

not to cunt up this thread, but for a second i thought your name was willybum

Yea i think i cunted the thread up.

are you serious? please don't tell me you are a car enthusiast driving that Honda. I mean drifting with that front wheel drive car DAMN you are a piece of shit you should never call your self a car enthusiast.

*Power sliding. FWD slides should never be called a drift. i always get into an argument with people about this and what drifting is (not calling you out for this, simply stating a fact)

Don't worry I 100% agree with you, I have a 2006 BMW 325I and It is REAR WHEEL DRIVE!!! real drifting is so much more fun then FWD cars sliding the tires a LITTLE bit.

haha from what I saw in your video and what I saw in his it looks like your the one who needs a proper definition of "car enthusiast." You took a shitty FWD honda and made some dust come up by spinning out of a turn. I wouldn't be surprised if this is what you and your friends call drifting. Someone could just copy and paste exactly what you wrote say it to you and it would make perfect sense.

you serious?

you can't 'real drift' a stock 2.5l e90...

and then I realized that you're the "I have a porsche and bmw" parent's car claim kid..

and then I lol'd.

:)

How can't you drift it I have gotten it to drift and leave smoke behind me? Neither are my parents, I admit the only car that is under my name in the insurance is the BMW because if I had the porsche under my name my rates would be higher then the price of the car its self. My dad has a 10' jeep Commander (piece of shit i think) and my mom has an 12' Audi A6. they both have there own cars.

I think you're mistaking 'drift' for "ripping into a corner, accelerating mid turn and oversteering'.

You can't actually drift your car properly because (I believe) it doesn't have a LSD (not to mention the constant DSC intervention)..

derp.

it has "DTC" which can be turned off and on with the simple press of the button. which means the constant DSC intervention can be toggled on and off. I fucking HATE it though, When I forget about it and try to but the petal to the ground in wet areas or try to drift it and only see my RPMs at 3-4 im like WTF come on lets put some power to the wheels ohh wait forgot about DTC. But I am not sure what you mean by the LSD? can you explain that.

and No I have not mistaken 'drift' for ripping into a corning and oversteering.

you are fucking clueless....

go use the google and get some basic comprehension of your claim and get back to us..

and check yourself before making brilliant statements such as

"are you serious? please don't tell me you are a car enthusiast driving that Honda. I mean drifting with that front wheel drive car DAMN you are a piece of shit you should never call your self a car enthusiast."

not cool...

you're embarrassing yourself.

why am I being an asshole?

the kid was elitist shitting all over the place.

and sorry if I don't equate "drifting" to come kid stomping his auto nannied e90 down on a wet surface and then claiming all over the place.

I guess I view drifting more in a sense of skilled control and modulation of your car. ie: sustained countersteering, multiple links, line consideration etc.

if the kid is out "drifting" in parking lots and streets (whole other deal in itself), I would moreso consider that "hooning"

To be drifting the rear wheels need to be out passed the Front wheels, and the only way to do so is with a RWD or possibly AWD car.

when did I say I was drifting like a pro. you view drifting as a skill but the only way to have that skill is to start out at the bottom and try shit. I do go into parking lots and empty streets and try shit. I go to this abandon neighborhood a couple roads down from me and just try drifting, and doing semi cool stuff. I claim that I have Ken blocks set up and can ever piece of it with one goddamn try.

Limited Slip Differential. Go do some wiki-ing. not bashing, im not the biggest car guy either and i drive an e36. Anybody know if i have a LSD? And how to turn off my TCS? Because i can do a powerover in water, but not much. my car pulls, but i wanna learn how to become the next DRIFT KING! loljk.

I was simply pointing out the inefficacy of your car as a "drift" car (as you claimed).

and honestly, if you want to learn driver skill go sign up for some track days/autox.

you'll learn much more without the whole public endangerment thing...

ken block doesn't do "semi cool stuff" on public roads bro.

^ pocket change when you're a kid who 'owns' a 996 and an e90 :3

and no...autox costs like...10-30$ an event..

AHAH

oh my fucking god

I quit the internet!

lol-face.jpg

asked him why he didn't want to drive his porsche....

he answered with tires being too expensive...

and I quote him:

"Umm the dealer ship wants 1000$ per tire... Which either way i do not have that much. and it is not a 996 it is a 911."

stealership:

"1000$ per tire....these are special porsche tires with diamond tread and unicorn hair braiding. we're giving you a deal."

idiot - eats it up

BAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHA +k to you because you actually know something about cars unlike so many of the spoiled twats on this site. There is no way this kid owns a 996! If i owned a shot i would rip the fuck out of people like this.

I don't mean this maliciously.... but you're the kid who last week was claiming a GT-R as your own ^

anyway..not trying to start anything, but don't jump onto the other side of the fence too ambitiously not that you're able to flame some other kid for this..

cool fucking story... no one gives a shit. If you are retarded enough to think people will believe you have a porsche and bmw then you dont deserve to drive either. Why the hell are you all so obsessed with "drifting"? You do know there is more than just taking off traction control to drift right?... wait no you dont...your fucking retarted

why the fuck do I care if you believe me or not? I will never meet you in real life nor will I ever need to show you that I own one.

between idiots racing on public roads and another idiot saying a 996 isnt a 911 this thread should just be deleted.

First off, racing on a public road regardless of whether or not you have spotters is complete bullshit. You are the reason why actual enthusiasts get a bad rep. Your dumbass racing on public roads puts people in danger, combined with your 12o'clock gangster lean is fucking disgusting.

And I wonder why insurance rates are so high. If your going to race that POS do it at a track and keep your bullshit of the streets.
