Driving in Ski Boots?

After watching John's Video blog it looks like he drives his car in his ski boots... maybe I am wrong but does any1 else do this?
 
I've done it before, but only a few Kilometres. I drove about 45 mins. from portland Maine to Shawnee Peak with one ski boot on and 1 sneaker, since you only need 1 foot to drive an automatic. It would be really hard in a standard with both boots, because its really hard to sense how hard you are pushing the pedals or if you have your foot on them at all. I'm pretty sure I would utterly destroy the clutch if I tried it. Overall driving in ski boots = not recommended, but its kinda one of those things you feel liek you have to try.
 
i do it all the time, usually just in my normal ski boots though. on occasion i have driven stick with my tele boots on. that was fucking hard.
 
Yeah I tried driving stick in my boots a few weeks ago, didnt go 2 well... Havent tried it in a auto tho.
 
Only for very short distances, as I find it very sketchy not being able to feel how much pressure I am using.
 
I enjoy it. You can maintain a constant speed because they hold position well. its great as long as your on a good road thats relatively straight
 
pretty sure its illegal, or at least not advised.. ive never tried it out, i usually just pop my boots on when i get there, and i usually go inside anyways to drop shit in.
 
lazy? nah- i'd rather try driving from alpental to central (about 2 miles) in ski boots rather than have to go thru the hassle of taking them off and putting them on. sucks having a stick tho
 
I've done it in snowboard boots and could barely get my clutch in. I wouldn't try it with ski boots.
 
I think I saw a guy do it today. I was at Irving, everyone knows the one, the bearded lady was stocking shevles, the super depressed chick made me my sandwhich and then i went to eat it at the table section thingy then this dude walks in wearing ski boots and a fila bright red one peice. I saw the guy when i was leaving and he was the only one in the truck so i guess he drove in ski boots.
 
Why is it that everyone who can't drive think that driving on a highway is the end all be all of driving achievements. It is much safer and easier than driving in the city. (when i say safer i mean less likely to crash)
 
i did it once at a rail jam we were having down the street from my house. risky business and a bad idea.
 
you suck at driving. i do it every day and have never had a problem with it. you just need to use your entire leg, not just your ankle, and you've got it. i've personally rode with Reed on here to the hill more times than i can count when he drove his stick in his boots and made it look easy as pie. basically, it's no problem if you aren't a saggy vag.
 
super hard and dangerous. You cant really feel the pedals, you cant move your feet fast enough and you cant articulate your ankle at all so you just have to stomp down on the pedal. I only do it for super short distances.
 
kids who says its super hard and dangerous are a bunch of pussies who cant drive, the only danger in driving in ski boots is getting your toe buckle caught and not being able to move your foot, problem solved by keeping your toe buckle closed, driving isnt hard, takes a little getting used to, i had to drive 10 miles half of which were on dirt roads, it was pretty fun i must say, but either way driving in ski boots is a trate all ski bums must poses
 
and how would you know every single insurance companies' state-to-state policies and all the different options they include? you don't, so don't post false information.
 
its not proper footwear, therefore you wouldn't be covered.

secondly, you don't know me, which means i could be the son of an insurance agent/broker.

so you have no right to say that i am giving false information.

according to my plan, which i'm holding a print-out of in my hands, the only time my insurance won't cover me when it comes to footwear is if i'm barefoot. i do have every right to say you're spreading false information- state laws dictate a lot of what insurance companies will and won't cover and they obviously differ from state-to-state, so you have NO idea what the policy might be here in Michigan. don't make broad, sweeping generalizations if it's something like this that can't really be generalized. almost every single person's insurance plan is different, so you have no clue what someone might be covered for.
 
ive had my licence for two years, that doesnt make me god of driving but i know how to drive in ski boots, its not difficult..go eat a dick
