Drinking in Park City

I have never been to Utah and I live in Austrlia. that is the reason for my ignorance... what is the deal with alcohol consumption in and around Park City (or all of Utah for that matter). i read that there are all these gay rules restricting amounts etc. please educate me, and how this affects night life. I am 21 and am looking at moving there for the next winter season so would appreciate your comments

yeah, its pretty stupid. the drinking laws around here are terrible. the beer here has 1/3 of the alcohol that your beer does. and in the bars there is a three beer and two mixed drink, maximum. and there is absolutely no alcohol on sundays. you dont want to move here. stay in australia.

 
You guys are idiots. It's alcohol by volume, it's the same everywhere you go. The only difference here is you have to buy higher than 3.2% beer in liquor stores. And there is tons of drinking on Sundays, Cisero's in PC has $1 drafts every Sunday.

Quit talking out your ass, I cocktail at a bar, so I'm pretty sure I know more than either of you on this.

 
Rowdy2, where do you bartend? I need suggestions on some good bars, right now I go to green street but would like to try other places.

I’ve lived here about a year and the biggest annoyance for me is the selection of beer, but more specify non-liqueur store beer. Some of my favorite beers you can only get at the state stores and it is insanely expensive. I don’t mind drinking the weaker beer I just want more beer diversity. The booze isn’t priced too expensive from what I can tell, but wine does seem to be a bit more expensive I payed like 7$ for yellowtail merlot whereas I could get it for 5$ or less where i used to live.

ummm, yeah, you can't get any "real" drinks in Utah. ALL of them have less acohol than what I need in them. The state has gotten a little more relaxed, for instance: Now at resturants you can have two beers, or a shot and a beer-you couln't do that before. As for acohol in drinks, this will probably never change until the Mangum Mofia completes its take over of the entire state and makes us all where arms braclets and carry a picture of Jim in our pockets. You can only have 1oz of primary acohol in a drink, from there it goes down, so even if you have a 10gallon long island ice tea its only going to have about half the acohol as if you ordered it in VEGAS baby.

As for Ciseros, no one go there, they Fired the only good bar tender they had (Gavin) for being one of the best god damn bar tenders in town. So I would like to take a shit on that place. DO NOT GO TO CISEROS!!!!!

 
I can't wait to have the Mangun Mafia take over, I've been carrying photo's of jim around for the past year, he is so dreamy with his curly hair and all. I just hope i do something wrong and him and his goons manhandle me some day.

 
Green street is ok, but I dont think it's a very social atmosphere. It's right down the street from me so I spend more time there than other bars. Circle Lounge is a cool place to chill and hit on classy women and pay too much for alcohol. Port O call is a meat market but don't bother trying to get laid there unless you Gel your hair and wear metrosexual clothing. Shaggy's sucks a fat one, too trendy. The Bayou is the only bar in Salt Lake that serves beer thats above 3.2%. You can get like 12% beer there it's pretty sweet they have a list of like 250 imported beers there. X-Wives place is a good place to shoot pool. Murphy's is ok sometimes but usually dead, Cheers is usually packed and stupid.

If you are living in Park City, I don't think driving to Salt Lake is a great idea, plus during the ski season the bars are way better.

but as far as i can tell they are pretty much the same in terms of resorts, so i might as well go somewhere i can get belted and have some fun at night

 
nobody said you couldn't have fun. Though I guess you aussies are the type where there already has to be something going down and cant make your own fun. As far as resorts go. You guys must be smoking some good shit there in australia for you to think that cali is better skiing then utah. Sure it is good skiing and alot better then alot of other places, but I dont think that you can compare the quility of snow/resorts that we have here in utah compared to cali. Either way it is no skin off my back

 
Some guy says he is going to cali in utah, I say good idea. Why in the great lords world would you try to convince more people to come to Utah. I personally want have of the idiots that live there to go away, not the mormons because most of them don't ski on sundays. All you other idiots from the midwest, the north east, and Califuckinfornia. GO HOME.

 
I'm just giving you a hard time Hef, but seriously the terrain in california is pretty good, the park's are better, the snow is iffy though. I also didn't find any better parties out there than I have here in Utah. But I don't really care about partying that much anymore I'd rather just get up early in the morning and go skiing. If you care more about partying than skiing you should consider moving to las Vegas, they have a ski resort about 45 minutes from town. Also they have no laws about alcohol there. I was just down the last weekend and I was walking around at 4 o clock in the morning with a bottle of liquor in one hand and a magnum of wine in the other just walking through buildings and casinos and down the street. Wait a minute what am I talking about

^I think the same way. I sometimes misspell words by like one letter and people start jumping down my throught. I think it is gay. I understand what someone is trying to say. So I can give a rats ass.

 
check out rummbunnies starting in july. beach themed bar under town lift, and the town lift cafe is going to be the same theme and name as the bar but will be the restaurant version, there was a article in the park city newspaper about it, the waitresss are going to be in bikinis ;)

 
any one know how the bars treat kids with fake id's.... as in me. still one year off, but i can get away with it here in colorado. just curious.

 
ha, trying to get in a bar here is like trying to escape from the gulog in sibera. the kbg would be all over your ass.

 
If you get cuaght it is pretty bad. Anything in utah to do with underage drinking has stiff penilties. Thought if you look of age and have a somewhat decent ID you will be ok. I pullied that shit off my whole senior year of high school just cause I looked old enough. I had a pretty shitty ID though
