Ontario is looking to come down a little harsher or drunk drivers, repeat offenders (2nd time caught) life time license suspension. I'm in full agreement with this plan (although i suspect Ernie might be doing it to get votes, its a fucking good idea) I actually think it should be 1 time, i have absolutely no respect for anyone who drinks and drives. Just wondering what everyone elses point of view on this is?

yeah but what about your friends that have a couple drinks and get caught, theyd be fucked, i drive after drinking all the time but Im not drunk, even though id still get a DUI. I think they should just give you a really big fine, money controls everything.

i figured someone would have a response to that, dude, as soon as you have alcohol, your judgement is worse... if you've had enough to be caught, then your response time would be shot anyway... i seriously dont understand how you could think that way, if theres even a chance you could get you, your friends, and someone you dont even know killed why the hell would you do it? and your probly gonna say 'but i know im not drunk' your judgement is still impaired... call a goddamn cab.

also, money controls nothing, you can charge me once, and i'll do it again and kill someone, if i run somone over, just out for a walk, i should get charged??? what the fuck... we had a family friend get killed by a drunk while he was biking one morning, he got 3 years probation, no charges, no vehicular manslaughter, no jail time, nothing... hows getting drunk and killing someone any different from the guy who rob's the 7'11 and pulls the trigger 'by accident'?

a friend of mine was just killed by a drunk driver about a month ago.....a week before her birthday. Her father had just taken her to buy a new car for her 18th and they had just gotten on the freeway when some drunk girl jumped the median and hit her head on. Both were killed instantly. The drunk driver had a friend in the car with her who servived......the driver didn't think she was all that drunk when she left the bar.......Thats how people die, drinking and driving is an 'fearless' move made by ignorent people

^^ very good, they think there fine to drive like pjo or whoever said, but they really arent, and the other thing is ignorant friends who let friends drink and drive... and im not just ranting because people i know have died from drinking and driving (the last person i know that that happened to was 5 or 6 years ago) it is just one of my strong beliefs, that they should come down harder on them. And also, i know that you can be a perfectly good person to dd, i have an uncle, convicted 2 times of drinking and riving, now has the breathelizer installed to start the car, and, i think his license should be totally suspended. He's a nice guy, he didnt mean to do it, but it was a stupid mistake, and he did do it, so he should take the punishment (he did spend a month in jail, and was charged, but never did he kill anyone, luckily)

I think if I was the legal age to drink, lived in Ontario, and really cared because I don't think I'll ever get caught, then I would try to respond and make a valid argument, but for now you made a good point, driving really drunk is bad.

its the stupidest thing you can do,a guy i know drives drunk all the time but hes a good driver when hes drunk for some reason,hes done it so many times i guess that its nothing for him to drive drunk,

Yeah i know some people who have a breathilizer installed in there car, I think thats good enough and is a perfect thing. If you get your license suspended you can still drive you car, just not legally. The only thing I've killed while I was drunk was a raccon, and I feel pretty bad about it.

I drive drunk. but I'm not an asshole, I gots skills. I practised go-karting and offroading drunk and became proficient before hitting public roads. and I stand by my accident and fatality free record. There should be a 'drunk driver endorsement' on licenses, if you pass a test, you are legal to drive at double or triple the blood alcohol limit.

i totally agree. I think that it is bullshit that my safety should be at risk because of some complete fucking moron decides they arent 'too' drunk to drive. If a drunk person were on some hypothetical road with no one but themselves, and they crashed into a tree and killed themselves, i wouldnt care, infact, id probably be happy if they killed themselves. However, as soon as you put other people's lives at risk, i think it is total bullshit. Why should I, or anyone else have to suffer the consequences of your stupidity?

my god, driving really drunk is horrible, driving over the limit at all is stupid. WHy do they have the liomit? because they have figured out, that depending on your body wait, your judgement, and response time, is impaired after that much alcohol, and you are endangering yourself, and anyone else on the road. Your pretty much saying its ok to drive a little drunk, and miss a read light, kill a family in there mini van, but its not ok to drive really drunk, and kill a family walking on the sidewalk? your really not making sense to me pjo.

If you want to put your own life at risk that is one thing but I have a 3 year old son and everytime you drive drunk you are putting his life in danger and the lives of other people and their children... It is sad that you think you have control when driving drunk and that it is going to take you killing someone or yourself before you stop.

its cool. i just wanted to piss everyone off. seriously, i used to drink and drive like a motherfuck but I got busted at a checkstop. In the end, the cop let me off through a deal with my lawyer but I'm happy to say I havent driven drunk since. Its just the whole experience kind of desensitized me to the subject.

i dont care what kind of 'skills' or how many times you have done it or 'trained' yourself to do it you are being a selfish asshole when you get behind the wheel of a car drunk. it like playing russian roulette eventually that bullet is gonna get to you. you reaction time des suffer when you drink at all, whether you feel drunk or not your reaction time is not the same. from what i understand england has got it right cause when you do get caught you lose your license permanently.

again, the way i see it, a drunk hopping into a car, is just the equivelant to a guy shooting the foreigner at the 7'11, or popin that cop at the tim hortons cuz he gave you a speeding ticket, and all punishment should be the same, you should get no easier punishment because you were under the influence, you had to get under the influence, you had to get into that car, and, you should of fucking known that you could easily kill somone, its just the same as thinkin, the bullet wont kill him.. just hurt him a bit.

I have in the past? Maybe 4-5 times, possibly more, I don't remember. All those times the most Ive had was like 6 beers im guessing so i was alright.

Wow blindblinds, you really have a lot of feelings about drinking and driving. So basically, alcohol is the real dangerous drug. It is the reason that people drive drunk in the first place, it takes over your thinking process and causes you to do stupid things. The only way you could stop drinking and driving is to outlaw alcohol and we will never see that happen. There may come a time in your life where you will drive drunk, we are all there at some point, especially you because judging from your icon and other posts by yourself that you are an alcoholic. Dont think that because you 'never' drive drunk but still are get fucking plastered that you are making our society better.
