18, if the age is older, people start drinking earlier, possibly resulting in more problems

18 is a perfect age, you don't need anyone younger in bars, kids are always going to drink underage but if you lower the drinking age your going to get even younger kids drinking, im sure many people here started drinking in grade 8 or even younger its just not a good idea, totaly fucks up your brain, my first time drunk was in grade 9 and i would change that if i could, your just not mature enough at that age

you should be able to drink when your parents are with you and you should be able to buy when you turn 18. but none of this will ever happen because of trasportation funding. i did a report on this last year.

i think its 21 because most high school seniors are 18. that means they buy it, have a party, and the whole school goes and can drink. if its 18, then a lot more kids will be able to aquire alcohol a lot easier.

Change it so its only the year you were born not the exact date, so if you are born in 1985 you can start drinking on Jan 1 not say July 2 when you actually are legal, i hate that i can get a ticket for underage drinking but my friend who is 2 months older won't. Half my friends are legal and have aren't its retarded. i have friends who got denied the day before his birthday because he was still underage, one freakin day who cares

i think it should be like 17 or 18 wether they like it or not kids are gonna drink underage and the sooner we start the sooner we learn the sooner we figure out whats so bad about it that the goverment makes it out to be and make choices based on our findings rather than someone elses. thats the whole reason that people try somthing in the first place wether its a food they have never had before or if its thier first shot of liquer people wanna experience somthin new.

i like 19, like in canada. u pretty mature by 19 and wont do anything that stupid. anything else is pretty young. 18 is debateable. but it used to be and they changed it so....

I like 18, 18 is good. I'm only 17 but i don't mind it being 18 because i just go over the border to quebec where they don't give a shit and sell it to you cause they make money.

 
a foriegn exchange student told me that in switzerland its 16 to drink, but you can drive until you're 18. He said, rarely anybody gets shitfaced, because they know what they're doing. also i think its because when we underage people get alcohol, we're fucking hell bent on drinking that shit and getting waste. Its not as healthy.

should definately be 16. In a few years everyone would calm down. Since i turned 18 (the drinking age here is 18) i've slowed down a tad with my drinking. Probably would've done the same at 16. What about like in greece where there is no drinking age?

 
there would be a lot more problems if they lowered the drinking age. It would probably be a little better in the long run to get rid of the drinking age but I think the short term problems it would cause wouldn't be worth it. Like everyones said, kids are going to drink no matter what the age is.

I say 19 is a good drinking age for the states becasue it makes sure that kids are out of high school where we are more likely to drink and drive and pretty much would allow college kids to drink a lot safer becasue they wouldn't be passing out and being so f'ed up they need medical attention but don't want to get busted for getting help

the way the us saw it is that when it was 18 there were too many accidents with cars, so it was either higher the driving age or higher the drinking age. i would much rather drive at 16 then drink at 18.

word but if the age was 18 not that many ppl would have fake ids i have a fake id that sez im 22 (ive had it for a year) and it works fine but its illegal... i think that the cops would lyk it better if it was 18 that way there wasnt to much underage drinking i mean it would occur but not as much
