i was in drunk driving accident that almost killed me the car hit a tree at 50mph. and now i have sll those things i listed
 
Of course because alcohol impairs judgement there's no way that I can be driving safely If I have some in my system. That's bullshit.

I'm not talking about driving when I'm shitfaced and seeing double.

I'm talking driving in the center of my lane, doing the speed limit, avoiding deer, stopping at stop signs, but obviously all of that was a lie because alcohol impairs judgement.

I don't have a car, I'm still underaged to drive one. But i think its just common, simple fact. Dont drink and drive.

safe drivers can get in accidents when they are completely sober, I mean center of the lane speed limit driving stop sign stopping drivers, If a stupid cell phone driver skips a stopsign, its reaction time that matters, not how dedicated to "safe" driving you think you are, its about minimizing the risks, you are a safer driver sober, thats what matters.
 
I live in the middle of nowhere. I'm talking about avoiding dear that are suicidal everyday. I'm talking about making it through a whole pack of those motherfuckers with out hitting any.

Maybe I'm used to driving in freezing rain on the mountains with deer and I'm a far better driver because of it. All I know is I'm not going to drive if I can't drive safely. and by safe I mean safe.

As far as minimizing risks I said I wasn't encouraging driving drunk, my comments were more to the people on the bandwagon of "if you have a beer and drive fuck you you're gonna kill everyone". I also said I go way out of my way to not have to drive.

And with reaction time, your average person on the road pays far less attention to the road than me. People are shitty drivers these days. a lot of people don't have nearly enough respect for driving.

A lot of the kids bitching in this thread are going to get their licenses and drive recklessly. A few will crash right away. They'll be speeding and racing each other, "drifting", not paying enough attention, but for some reason when they're 15 - they feel the need to tell everyone else the "truth'.

Jesus Christ, good work on the personal attack. I made it quite clear in my post that I don't condone drunk driving. You're obviously 16 and, like I previously stated, don't know what the fuck you're talking about.

Everyone professing this "not a drop" shit needs to stop. Its not a black and white thing. If I go out to dinner and have a couple beers or a glass of wine, I see nothing wrong with driving home. If I'm going out to the bar with intentions of getting slammered, I will walk/skate/bike/llama/taxi there and back.

I am a responsible adult, I know my limits.
 
Im not sixteen, and you obviously need to work on your maturity. This not a drop shit needs to become more popular, it saves lives. Of course you see nothing wrong with having a few beers then a glass of wine then driving, total fucking retards have trouble seeing a lot of very basic problems in their logic. Would you rather play Russian roulette with a family member with a 5 round revolver or a six? 1/5 chance of death isn't very much more than 1/6, but it sure would suck to have them be in that one chamber difference.

The number isn't really important, but one beer isn't what I'm talking about. It's the idea that a person knows they are buzzed and will not be the same driver they are sober, and are ok justifying getting in a car and putting other people's lives at risk. I'm kinda drunk myself and will be busing/cabbing from place to place. It's really not that big a deal to do.
 
Sure drinking and driving is bad but one thing no one has taken into consideration is sometimes shit happens and you end up in a situation where you can either drive drunk or sleep in your car. Sleeping in a car is a lot like Sleeping in a tent. Its fucking Freezing. At Least where i live spending the night without a sleeping bag or some serious winter outerwear is likely going to cause hypothermia. so you have the choice to be fucking miserable and gamble with hypothermia or gamble with the likelihood of crashing your car. I am personally going to take the latter up until .20 then i will probably call someone unless its warm enough.

Yea if i tried to sleep in my car in january, even with a sleeping bag hypothermia would set in very quickly.
 
Ok gotcha there. I'm from a suburb of Vancouver and go to school in Victoria, both decent sized cities. Are there actually no taxis where you're from? Never really experienced the whole rural setting before...And that's why I said the number doesn't matter. A girl that can only handle two beer should stop there, and the tank who can handle 8 should stop there. I'm talking about buzzed/drunk driving, not "had a little to drink and am driving".

Why have I not left my house yet? This is the real problem here. It's 10pm and I'm on NS arguing about drunk driving, while I'm getting drunk.

I've slept in my car after work at the mountains here and there. Once got out of the cat around 11 and freezing rain started as I was leaving. did not want to dirve 45 min home in that shit which would have been 2hours+ in the ice on back roads, and then have to leave super early to make it back by 7.

Actually slept in the mid lodge on the mountain once. That was probably the dopest thing I ever did at that place.

Moe.down 2 years ago sucked in vt. It got down to 0 in march. I didn't have enough money for a hotel room buy myself so i "slept in my car. Also didn't want cops to fuck with me so i didn't run the heat once it got late. Worst thing was hitting the trunk release with my foot. Had to climb out of my sleeping bag and get out of the car and close the trunk.

Fuck living like a hobo.

In big areas I take cabs with friends, have a dd, walk places. Def have done A LOT of walking places to avoid driving. Now that I'm not drinking of dd'd a bunch for my friends.

Also had it where I wasn't sure if I could get a ride so I would only drink to thee point where I would have a beer or less in my system when I would have to drive. that was how I rolled leaving any shows where there were always cops fucking with people. If I found out a friend was not drinking only smoking or something and would drive, then I would drink more.

Def been responsible. I just hate how threads on ns about drinking and driving end up being a bunch of 15 years olds screaming about ify you had a beer and drove you could have killed a bunch of people and you're going to burn in hell and you should die.

Its just plain stupid, but in fact, SOOO many people do it. Fuck, even think of the "adults" who go out for dinner or a get together with friends and have some drinks, chances are if they did happen to get stopped by the cops they would probably blow over, however are not "intoxicated", and yes, if you have a tolerance you can do that.

Speaking from experience, and being that asshole who never thinks something like that could happen to them and that their fine to drive and end up almost chopping their car in half with a hydro pole and just by luck didn't die/kill the passenger, its just straight up NOT worth it. And SO much little things that add up its just 110% not even worth it.

It takes a bro to drink and drive.. it takes a real man to not get in a car.

Think about doing this to your car next time you think your fine to drive after a couple

everybody knows their limit. I don't mind driving if i have 1 or 2 drinks but anymore than that and i refuse. I've known too many people who've been victims of drunk drivers or been drunk drivers themselves. Just know your limit and don't be stupid about it.
 
People that drink and drive are just fucking retarded. Every time i have too much to drink, I know not to drive, why is it so hard for people to understand that they are drunk and it is not safe for them to get in a car?
 
i saw a guy his girlfriend and her little sister die in front of me because he was driving drunk. a kid who went to my school killed 2 bikers because he drove drunk, one of my sisters best friends died and killed his friend because he was driving drunk, those drivers get about as much respect as murderers from me. whats fucked up is that on the anniversary of my sisters friends death, her and her friends all went to his grave, then went to someones house and partied, where multiple kids drove home drunk. they learned absolutely nothing from it, i honestly wish someone else died that night to prove a point. maybe by some dumb fuck killing himself, it might prevent others from turning into a piece of shit like him...

i can understand driving if you have had like one or two beers a couple hours before you drive. but really if you can feel it, you shouldnt drive. driving buzzed is too much. supposidly my sisters friends was buzzed.

really if you cant resist the urge to drink, knowing that you will have to drive, cant stay the night instead of driving, or are too stupid to not put yourself in a situation where you might drive drunk, your a weak minded fuck. maybe find something else to do rather than dulling your mind with alcohol to create the illusion of happiness. the majority of young people today are so pathetic and weak.
 
gotta say though, kids need to learn how to fucking control a car. so im all for finding a parking lot, open lot of land, open twisty road where u can see around corners or something and fucking around like crazy so they know their cars limits and how to control a car at its limits. there are some unbelievably horrible drivers out there who couldnt control a car driving through a fucking puddle.

but yes, doing this shit on city streets, neighborhoods, etc.. is retarded.
 
Word, def wouldn't rock my car in that. probably 10 below ish is the coldest ever rocked my car. And that was with full snowboard gear plus blankets, turning my heat on repeatedly, and shivering.

Actually that was to avoid driving home from the mountain drunk. And I had to work the next day. The next day was not a picnic though.

Most times it's been normal temps. The majority summer actually. Then it's not that bad. Still hard as fuck to get comfortable when you have a small car that's stuffed with tents, easy ups, coolers, djembes, clothes, sleeping bag, and anything else that you could need to survive.

I nostalgia'd hard thinking about sleeping on the mountain that one time. Shit was so dope. Got to ride a foot of freshies down to the base area to punch in for the day. :) :) :) were had

yeah a little harsh, but really, how fucking dumb can you be to drink and drive, on the anniversary of one of your best friends death that resulted in drunk driving? im not really one to wish death on people, but atleast it might prevent someone who isnt a complete piece of shit from making that mistake.

i mean thats about the most disrespectful asshole thing you can do to your dead friend. i have nothing close to any respect for those douche bags.
