Dream park

hey all

im helping with the copper mtn park staff and we wanted to put our park up on the map for next year...

we'll have a park update soon, but we close next sunday, a week from today.

i was wondering if any of you guys could give me a list of dream fetures you would love to have--from jumps to rails etc

thank you

i appreciate it

see the 2 big invites- a jump line that:

-begins with the 135 foot "big bertha" table from the candide invite

-2nd hit, the behemoth step up fromjon's invite

-3rd hit, the world record 1/4 that candide made in la clusaz

can anyone come up with a gnarlier park jump line??

i would do this, 35 foot table, to 30 foot table, to 40 transfer gap. and at the end have 65 to 70 foot booter. also you should have a nice quarterpipe to top it off, with a barrel bonk on top. for rails, have a sky with an actual landing, to a long c box, to a good sized trap rail. to top that off, put in a big flat rail for spins on and off. that would be tight.

make a rookie park for the people who arent really good yet. imthinking in the rookie park a 25 table 20 table 30 table, and a 40'hip. but thats a lot of snow.

at the top of the lift is a kiddy park with some ride on rails and boxes (a tiny halfpipe as well)

from there u cruz down to a rail park with df to a down gap flat box then a ufdf, an ufd and a nice flat box which is easy to spin onto

then in the next rail park we have a flat (slightly up however) that has a drop to the landing--easy to spin on and off of... a down rail, another flat box with a drop off and another fd

from there u head to the main park:

we have three lines

3 easy (like ten ft rollers)

2 middle sized (maybe 20-30 ft tabletops--a lot of pop) to a 30-35 ft step up

and 3 big ones (40-50 ft with a bunch of pop--steep landings)

then we have 2 hips with like a gulley between them and a pretty decent 1/4 pipe

if u dont want to hit the hips we have a garbage can jib a couple of boxes and rails and a big jump on down rail

from there u have the urban section w/ some urban down rails and then we have a really long (maybe like 60-70 ft long) ufd

then a decent pipe (we have three including the kiddy one)

that is all the main park but there is another rail park and its out of the way tho

so that should give u an idea

i agree about the long flat rail and im trying to get a dip rail like in breck that u can spin off and on

A few weeks ago i went to Echo and they had a skating type quarter pipe. You know the ones that are kinda small and not verticle, well they had that with coping on top. it was set up so u could come straight in to stall, diagonal and lipslide or come on from the side and grease the coping end to end.. Its not a gnarly feature but its fun cuz there a whole bunch of combinations you can do.

i would three lines...a slopestyle course line with like four tables adn three lips varying in size and distance on each, have a rail feature above that and a rail feature after the jumps, also give two feet in between each lip on each table for like follow cams and shit. the next line should be one with some rail features, boxes, etc, alond with soem innovative stuff: have like flat down rails boxes...all combinations and be able to hit more than three or four features in a line. have a lot of distance in between them like width wise so u can ski horizontally to get to the features u want to hit. for innovative stuff have like rollercoaster rails, like jibs, be creative. the third line should be two big booters. like first 6o fter then into a 70+footers.....at the end maybe u can tie everything with a quarter pipe or wallride. also have a kiddie 'progression' park, and a superpipe eithor above these parks or elsewhere., that in my opinion would be the sickest park...the slopestlye course thingy would be sick if it was like the size of the vt open park with jumps a little more spread out.

25 FT. FLAT DOWN

20 FT. UP RAIL

55 FT. CHEESE WEDGE

50 FT. TABLE

20 FT. FLAT BOX

65 FT. MONEY BOOTER

I am a lower level park skier... but this is what ma (lower level park skier) would like. I dont know what size they are but a couple smaller jumps, Then one of those things where you jump from like like block of snow to block of snow to step down. Also, make that last stepdown on the end have a down rail on the side. Then a down flat down box. A sweet quarter, more small to mid jumps.

In stead of having rails all the way down, and just a cluster of jumps, how about jumbs and rails for various levels all the way down. If you do that, and add a good sound system, maybe a DJ or some guy you could make a request at, some kind of deck by the kick ass features so you can chill out get something to eat and drink, enjoy the sun and what some guys throw down while you do, and this is really revolutionary... have some guy shoot some footage during the day in the park of guys throwin down and have him edit it and show it on a TV on that deck I was talking about earlier and on a big screen down at the base.

If you do that and put up solid features of rails... and JUMPS from top to bottem you will have the dopest park in the world.

30 foot step down

50 foot step up

Huge Hip

Urban rail setup stairs and shit

40 foot step down

40 foot rainbow box

Huge Quarter ppipe or next to it 65 fooot money booter

have like a table and the landing arcs right into a quaterpipe and u like hit it fading to the right and then it doesnt go to flat it goes down and have a up rail or like a 20 foot set up...hard to explain and would be hard to make but would look super sick

I would just have jumps like table top type ones with nice poppy takes offs ranging from 30 to 60 feet. and a ton of rails and boxes two I could reccomend would be an up and a roller coster.

"a line of like 5 nice lofty tables, not step downs, not step ups, just tables with about a 45-50 foot gap"

youve got the right idea but it would be better if they were bigger, more consisent rails, speed for jumps, features that are my favorites are:

trap boxes

dfd

fdf

triple kinks would be fun

very long boxes/rails

well set up fd (disasterable with good lip, able to spin on, able to switch up)

coasters

up rails/boxes

jumps that are easy to hit switch, long table and poppy lip but with much transition, long landings, easy to get speed for them

not for me but in general people like having varitety of dificulty in features, being able to work their way up to the hard stuff is nice, lots of features

(just for the record, the perfect park would be keystone's park leading into breck's park with the green giant from wp and vail's warming hut at the bottom, with a high speed quad)

make like a boardercross/snakerun, so you can pump and slash like on a skateboard, but then at some intervals have some rails that kind go up and out, so you can go pump some tranny then whenever you are ready just hit a rail and fly outa the "course"

ok im sick of those snowboard fags having their own "DC" Mountain Lab, you guys should have a stair setup like the one in that movie, aswell as a Tree Jib, like the one at Northstar

i think a sick rail would be a C rail one way to a down kink to a C rail the other way kinda like a F-D-F S rail, sorta...put that in the park

Well the jumps are awkward right now. if i were the park manager i would find larger run to put them on. A nice wider steeper run (Like Breck's Freeway park)

And make the rail setups not shitty (Make the takeoffs more square). That metal trap rail BLOWS!

Need more jumps too. 4 jumps in one run is not enough when a run is like 30 minutes. good park length tho. that is what i like about it the most. More barrel rails and less square rails and boxes.

Practice with ur Zogg more the pipes are a little weird. Find a good angle for your pipes so that not one wall gets all the sun.

More urban style rails too. Basically go to breck and check out how everything is setup. Speed is ALWAYS easy there. You know where you need to drop from EVERY TIME. This is a huge problem at Copper for me. Partly b/c the trees are tight around the jumps and cast shadows. making conditions exremely variable.
