love em, can't get enough of em. I want them but.... I'm scared and I'm still pondering it over.

what is everyone else's opinion on them, The only thing i would be worried about it is wakeboarding and skiing with them i guess or the fact they would look bad
 
YES get dreads!!! so you can SHAKE DEM DREADS, SHAKE DEM DREADS! I have a dread wig and whenever i wear it skiing i look awesome.
 
i have dreads and i love them. i've only had them for a month and a half or so. they are a bitch to take care of because its so time consuming and looks terrible when they are tightening. you should use a special kind of shampoo that doesnt leave any residues or else they will mold. mine get wet from skiing, i just make sure they dry out all the way. once they set completely then they will hold up much better in water. check out http://www.dreadheadhq.com i got a dread kit from them and it really helped alot.
 
dreadlocks look good on some folks but you have pretty hair. dont ruin it and make it all nappy.
 
You would look ridiculous with your hair. They get really gross too, my swim coach had dreads. It looked liked someone shit on his head.
 
very true. my friend had them and they looked great on her. then i let her spend the night at my place and the next morning one of my pillows was caked in shit. dreads are dirty
 
most of the time they are not gross, they are washed just as much as normal hair. unless you do a neglect method or something.

just no what your doing before you just try to get dreads, read up on the background of them and other opinions.
 
I think dreads on girls look awesome, but you gotta rock it right. How long is your hair? I say do it. Your only young once, and then you can always say you had them. I think it will look great
 
buffalo soldier dread lock rasta. haha Dread locks are sick if I was black I would definatly have them. I'm in florida right now and alot of white people have them and they don't look too bad.
 
haha my friend walked into my class first day after summer, i hadnt seen her since school ended. well she had dreadlocks and the first thing i said loud enough the whole class could hear was "hey roxanne, you got some lesbian in your hair"

she is still kinda mad at me for it. but everyone had a good laugh.

i tried dreadlocks and its true...it takes a ton of hard work to put them in and take care of them, way too much work for me, so i took them out. it was a bitch, but i was too curious and i wanted them so bad that i did it. i'm glad i did overall, but they take a lot of work..
 
Ya i was looking into all that stuff way too much work im just a shake the water out go type of person. I don't even brush my hair
 
I like girls with dreads. The only thing is if your wake boarding i don't think it would work a girl on my swim team had them and she said she would get headaches because how heavy they would get after practice. She ended up shaving them and had to pull off the bald head look for about a week.

this is my friend chryssie. i did her dreads 6 months ago. they were hard work for the first few weeks but theyve been through snow, sand, salt water... even on fire once and they look fantastic. dreads on girls are sick. you should definitely go for it!
 
I had them for 3 years. Lots of work to keep them clean and looking sweet.

Most people get lazy and they look like shit. But if you have the time and commitment they can look awesome.
 
like how much work, how much time do you think? cause I figured since I'm a girl its not a big deal to take care of them
 
ive helped dread hair for quite a lot of my friends.. if your hair is long it can take a while. like a whole day affair.... even two. it usually takes a few weeks before they start locking as well. also if your hair is thin your dreads will be substantially shorter

thats me from last weekish. pandora up there did mine as well as chryssies. i still have the rubber bands in just to make sure they dont come undone, but i can take them out pretty soon sicne the dreads are starting tighten. that picture is about 2 months into the dread life.
 
If you get them, get them really skinny. They can look good on girls if you do that.

I personally fucking love dreads, but my girlfriend would kill me if I got them...

my hair is pretty tame right now because i brushed it yesterday and its still kinda wet. but that would be my hair
