Dre pushes Detox back to 2011...

i mean if you look at it... i doubt he does much on a day to day basis.

especially if hes trying to release the album of the decade
 
actually i dunno. i know that production and mastering can take forever having gone through it enough times myself. to get a legit track out that sounds perfect is tough enough. getting a whole album out with the hype its been getting? only Dre can manage that. give him time.

He did not become the icon he is by not doing much day to day, he is consistently producing other artists and running a label. run a label and turn out a product that he will be satisfied with, he is a perfectionist he will not release it until he is ready. maybe my sarcasm meter is way off and I misread you post. who knows.

understatement... i mean i doubt he releases that many songs.... hes not gonna release 20+ songs, its just not gonna happen...

id rather wait to it to come out than have someting like eminems last cd just a shit show
 
I thought his last cd was ok, but was pissed off when he released relapse 2 (or whatever it was called) and it was the same fucking thing as relapse with a few extra songs. rip off.
 
I have a strange feeling that IF it drops next year everyone is going to be saying "we waited 10 years for this?"

Not that it won't be good, but it is going to be nearly impossible to live up to this much hype.
 
i actually appreciate this. when your young and hungry creative energy comes quickly, but hes older and successful now. instead of rushing through it and putting out a so-so album, hes waiting for the creativity to come out, so it takes longer. should just mean he's making a better, less forced album
 
yeah its true, hes made like over a hundred tracks with various artists, and then for the album he'll be choosing the best of the best of tracks to release.

that really sucks that hes pushing it back. hopefully it'll be worth the wait.
 
Not really surprised just disappointed... I was so stoked for it to drop this year, but its cool I'm sure it will be amazing if/when it drops.
 
Thats what I thought, except it's Dr. Dre we're talking about not Axle Rose who had a nervous breakdown. I'll continue to look forward to this album
 
People are having too much faith in this. We have hardly heard anything from him for a long ass time, and look how many other rappers have lost a lot of their appeal in that time (Snoop, Eminem). I am not saying it will suck, it could end up being anywhere from amazing to mediocre, I am just not getting my hopes to high.
 
definately not getting my hopes up for it to be amazing but we ll see. i am not at all suprised about it being delayed
 
god i hate dre, the only good song her ever had was forgot about dre and thats because eminem was on it. i hope his album never comes out

Long video but skip to about 6:50 and Dre says the album is def coming out this year with the first single to be released in the next 2 weeks. The single is featuring Jay-Z.

And I never realized how much of a tool Jiimy Iovine is.

 
WTF is Lovine even talking about? The first response he gives is the stupidest thing i have heard since Guam capsizing.
