Drawing on skis

I want to put something on my skis in permanent marker but i don't want it to rub off and smear. Will I be ok with just the marker or should i cover it? Anyone know what I should use to preserve it?

To put your name and number on them so when somebody takes them mistakenly they have a number to call. It's happened to me 3 times last year.

It's not something I would personally do, but If your really inclined to sharpie up your skis just spray em with some good ol' Rustoleum clear coat when your done.

Why in Tom Wallisch's name would you want to draw on your skis with markers.

Why in Brett Fischer's name would you want to draw on your skis with markers.

there was a thread on here awhile back about someone doing some really cool sharpie artwork on their skis, kind of reminiscent of a black and white j skis collage kind of design. i think they put down a solid base coat with spray paint to write on first, and then like the other person said end with a clear coat for protection

sweet my skis have been remembered! and yeah I painted my afterbangs. Sanded them down because they are wood and then put on a few coats of white primer, then a few of regular flat white paint. Scribbled on them in sharpie, Clear coat finish.
