I figured I'd stop ruining so many threads with crap about airplanes, etc. So from now, pictures, stories, whatever, I'll put in here.

Here is a short clip from my flight today, we were doing "rollercoasters" alternately going from 2.0 G's down to 0.2 G's. This shot was just about getting to 0.2 G's and I'm throwing my pen up. The video is not slowed down at all. The run before (that I didn't film) we got closer to 0-G's and when I tossed my pen up, it just kept going until I couldn't reach it anymore!

If you read the other thread about the vortex shedding of the nacelle chine, then this video is for you!

This was also from my flight today. This is a flow-altitude fly by. We do these over at Moses Lake. Basically we fly down the runway at 100 ft off the ground, going back and forth from the center of the runway, to the left and right edges to evaluate airplane control and handling.

Now if you watch you can see every once in a while the white vortex form and go up and over the wing. Very cool!

Keep in mind this is at 100 feet, the wingtips get very very close to the ground, pretty dangerous. Funnest thing ever though!

those are some good videos, sean but zero g's is so much better, i have goten there or really damn close the aid kit almost went out the window. but we were in gravity fed engins so it really is not good for the plane to do zerro g's. but fun.

Yeah, we were only down to about 0.2, maybe 0.1 on the run before that. Last week they went to -0.5 and a whole bunch of shit went flying out of the coolers where we keep drinks, etc. I guess it was a big mess, everything flew out of the garbage bags. I'll be doing plenty of weightless stuff, and negative G stuff over the next 3 weeks (I'm going to edwards AFB for testing)

Edwards is where the air force test all their porto types right, and that means you probably should not be telling us this stuff.

I can tell you that I'm going to Edwards, I can't tell you what I see (but seriously, I won't see anything secret). There's plenty I do at work that I can't tell you about ;)

I don't doubt it. my parents have a few friends that worked at boeing, and if they were having a party and people were talking about there jobs, these people would never talk.

Here are a couple of photos from today...

The buildings you see WAY off in the distance in this picture are the Air Force Base, you can see the dry lake bed extending off to the left of it. Longest non-secret runway in the world!

I LOVE THE DESERT!!!

haha that is amazing sean! You should post more videos when you can! That one video where you're above the runway tilting side to side is pretty trippy...i could almost feel myself getting a little sick just from watching it

The man made me take the videos down. How the man found the videos, I'll never know. Needless to say, he said to take them down.

daam, screw the man sean. (sick vids by the way) keep us update on your flying exploits though. quite interesting

Wow that is pretty impressive that they could find something like that.

Well...you should go undercover...and post more videos for your fellow NS'ers who i'm sure are worth more to you than your job.

Pretty sure if you posted them for me Kevin, they'd find them too....

No, my guess is someone was just browsing airplane videos on Google, and came across that and went, hey that looks like moses? It doesn't help that the one video had my FACE in it, hahaha.

But luckily its not a huge deal, I was just asked to remove the videos is all, so no worries.

over email? i guess i'll just have to get my videos from my other "informants"

and i wasn't implying that i would host them. i meant grant or christine

Went to the racetrack today. Left Palmdale at 5am, got back at 6:30pm. Not too bad!

I also went down inside the Ubehebe crater, which was cool. The good pics are on my other camera.

If you don't know what the racetrack is, its this dry lake up in the mountains up from Death Valley, where the rocks mysteriously move around leaving trails. Nobody knows why/how they move, but they do. Coolest place I have EVER been, and I've been to some cool fucking places.

I also saw snow today, on one of the mountains at Death Valley, looks like it snowed last night. Granted I wasn't anywhere NEAR the snow, I could see it in the distance!

haha you look extremely hard core with that white t-shirt on your head sean!

Anyway, they dont know how the rocks move? That's so odd. I'm going to wikipedia it right now.

Oh I know, Chamonix was impressive too, I think this was better than that though. I think the fact that I was the only person there, it was so dead silent, I don't know... it was awesome.

death valley does have something really serene about it. especialy early in the morning, its really remote there
