Draft

oh shit, this reminds me that I never registered for the army, and I was suppose to 10 months ago, and I just got a letter saying if I don't soon I'll be arrested. But I think they're bullshitting.
 
there is no way they could get me to fight. and its not so much that I am afraind of dieing (although I would be, and that would be part of it) but simply that I would never want to help out in a war.
 
the iraq war is not defending my country. the way I see it, it is like a democracy. everyone for the war and who is of age, should be fighting. if we dont have enough people that way, then I guess we shouldnt be fighting the war (although in my mind, either way we should not be fighting a war)
 
likewise, (and this is pretty much the same thing) if they dont have enough people who are willing to fight, then we shouldt be fighting...
 
I would try to. but i doubt that will get you out this time (they can track you and keep you from going into canada)

I would try to become a conscientious objector first
 
i would go skiing, im not gonna fight a war i dont support. IM not gona fight unless my president is standing beside me. That fucker has dinner parties and shit while our soldiers our over there dying. fuck him .
 
i dont think canadians are allowed to decide what the would do if there was a draft considering that it wouldnt effect them.
 
If I were an american, I'd go, Hell you can do more damage that way... sure theres a deffinate possibility that you will get killed, but if you die you will be remembered as a hero
 
If there is a war that means it was decided on by our government whom we elecrted, making it a democratic decision. Honestly if you can't fight for you county when it needs you you shouldn't be hear. If you live in many countries and dodge their wars they will just kill you. I think the same should happen here.
 
You wont get hunted down or stopped if you try to immigrate to canada during the draft but Im pretty sure your not let back in unless your goverment totally repeals the ideals of the war and lets you back in, happened during vietnam.
 
im pretty sure that u cant escape the draft by going to canada anymore. they made some sort of law or sumthing. i remember hearing about it like a year ago
 
I'd join the air force if there was any war. I mean iraq doesn't really have an air force, so your pretty safe that way. Plus flying fighter jets might be fun.

well that kinda defeats the purpose of a president dont you think. if u ask me having the president fight in a war is a pretty dumbass idea.
 
If i was told i had to go to war tomorrow, I would respect the decision for me to defend the country. Does this make me a redneck because I chose to fight in a war I might not like because it defends my country? Well then god damn it I am a redneck. You know our soldiers really aren't rednecks. In fact, a lot of the military is made up of minorities. I don't think you can really call a black or hispanic person a redneck. If you dodge the draft you should very well leave the country. That's what fucking happens at age 18. You sign yourself to the draft idea. You have to realize at 18 you have a choice: stay in the country and maybe go to war, or leave. If you chose to stay and then skip out on the war, you are officialy one of the lowest scumbags on earth, just above micheal jackson and just below Richard Nixon. For the Canadiens saying "you Americans are so stupid blah blah blah, Im sick of it. Stop acting like we are inferior to you. Let me tell you this your lives aren't so great so you can't be humble. If you think your better then me because I am a "stupid" American i laugh at you. You are in fact very ignorant. Our society is not the same as yours. Get your head out of your ass and do some research.
 
^^what he said, all the the losers go to canada, it stacks up after a bit. I know a lot of canadian bad asses but its not better then here at all. And really if anything happened to Canada we are here to bail them out they couldn't do crap. You know our country is in a sad state when our youth isn't willing to fight for it or its ideals.
 
It's really not that easy to pack up and move to Canada as soon as you turn 18. It's not like waking up one morning and deciding to go there. I wouldn't flee to Canada because of the war, but I can't be drafted anyways, so I don't have to worry about it. For those that would though, it takes a little more effort to do so then you're assuming it does.
 
id defineatly dodge the draft. I think this war is completely against what our country stands for, and i stand for our values, not for whoever happens to be running the country at the moment. to whoever mentioned that it is a "democratic war"... 1. we are not a democracy, we are a republic

2.our president has never had the majority of the nation behind him... he just got in because we have a fucking electoral college.

3. fighting a nation in order to force democracy on them isnt going to make them looka t democracy favorably

i would get out of it either legally or if i had to illegally but i would absolutley let them know that the last thing they want to do is give me a gun and then try to make me go some where i absolutley do not want to.
 
the only reason i would go is because if i dodged someone else would have to go in my place and i couldnt live with that knowledge, thats the only reason though, because im not a fucking moron who thinks this war is defending my country, even the president who started this war no says that we are fighting to protect iraqi freedom and some other bs,
 
Fuck. I'm from canuckistan and I'd fight! They're still uncovering mass graves in Iraq. The people who were in power there, and are now fighting to get it back, were some of the worst people we've seen in a long time. I mean shit; they killed somehting like 300,000 Kurds.
 
Maybe we could get him killed, real leaders fought along side with there armys in he past, Alexander the great conquered all of asia fighting with his army. Napolean did it but ended up gettign stranded on an island, your a stupid idea and im not gonna fight for some bitch ass president who isnt gonna win this war. Fuck you.

again, if they cant find enough people willing to fight, then they shouldnt be in a war, simple as that.
 
it was a bill a DEMOCRAT drew up to make the draft more fare. he didn nessisarly want it to come into action, but he was more like saying "look, if we are ever going to bring back the draft, this is how it should be to be more fair". the bill got rid of college exemption and some other exemptions and also included women. honestly, if they were to bring back the draft, I would agree with that bill.
