you must have not gotten it......It represents a great time, where political correctness was not really an issue. Blazing saddles is another great one.
 
I'm not sure you got it. It's a satire of that time, unless you're talking about the time it was made. It represents the childishness of the cold war, among other things. But none of them are a praise to the political correctness of the time. Certainly one of the best movies ever.
