Dr. NS. Shoulder Pains from injury 3 months back

Late season i landed sideways and fell right on my shoulder. It wasnt a dislocation, it just hurt a lot, and I had limited mobility for one or two days. After that, it was fine unless i threw (football, baseball), but that also went away, for some reason, its hurting a ton whenever i bench, do pushups, etc. I do like a set or 2 lifting and it gets really painful, and stays painful for about an hour. Has anyone had anything similar to this in the past?

K+ for halp

earlier this year i had a similar injury, just more severe. apparently i did something to my clavicle. i was in a sling for a few weeks and had pains in it for a while. hurt it the exact same way as you, just came down right on it.

just recently got back into lifting and im experiencing the same thing as you. i think you just need to restrengthen it, dont overdue it and get yourself back to comfortability.

do you have an odd bump on your shoulder now from the injury?

Early this past season the same thing happened, and during the time since then it happened a few more times. Then last week it fully dislocated during workout, and I'm back to square one. My advice would be to stay off that shoulder for a good month or more; shoulder injuries are a bitch and take a LONG time to heal. I'm talking around 6 months for full recovery, rest up for a month and then ease back into things SLOWLY

if you do this

does it hunrt like a motherfucker?

start with really light weights and slowly work back up. you probably damaged the muscle or a tendon. I would check in with a doctor to be safe. Perhaps a massage therapist would be able to feel if it is a muscle though (cheaper than doctor?)

Shoulder injuries take forever. You really have to work at rehab. I'm 2 years out of shoulder surgery and still have problems throwing/pushups/etc. You can youtube shoulder rehab or just do a lot of shoulder exercises. If that doesn't improve your condition after a couple months (again, time) than you may want to see a doctor.

yeah been there, doing underflips i was draggin my arms and right after to a couple days i couldn't move them. they feel ok but when i wrestle my brother it starts to hurt. just baby it be health for next season

Go to a doc. There's so much shit in that joint that they'll be the only ones with any idea. Shoulder injuries can easily become chronic conditions if you don't let it heal right, get a MRI unless you like the pain when you move your arm.

Yup I took a bad fall this season and landed on my arm funny. I agitated it again making a glove save in hockey. I went to the doctor and she didn't do shit really. She said it was probably a partial tear and said that the only thing I could do is not agitate it again and do small weight exercises and build up muscle around it. Does this sound similar to what you did, OP?

When it comes to shoulder injures I'm king I have fuck up both of my shoulders. What you prob did was a ac shoulder separation I had a level 5 you prob had a level 1. You need to go to pt because you need to build the muscles around the injury good luck and hey at least your shoulder won't look like this forever.

I did something very similar to this a year ago. The pain lingered for a little longer than 6 months for me, I really wish I went to the doctors and I suggest you do that.

Could be a separated shoulder, AC shoulder impingement, take hurt arm, rest ur hand on the opposite shoulder, and light ur up, that's a test for impingement. Where exactly does it hurt? back, front, side?

the guy who said AC sounded pretty right on. Not super common though. I see three shoulder injuries all day long. Supraspinatus tendonitis, impingement (which could be impingement of the RTC, biceps or combo) or da labrum. Prob not labrum if its not making popping noises. My guess would be RTC tendonitis, just cause its so damn common. Work those rows dude, and keep it moving! passively of course, you dont wanna end up with that froz shoulder its a bitch
