i overshot a pretty big jump recently. My left foot hurts when i put impact on it.I might go skiing in two weeks.Do you think it will be better by then?

bruised heels suck...and it takes varying length to heel, but you should be good in two weeks, it will probably still be a little tender when you ski though.

ya i think i bruised my heels.if i ski when its still "tender" will it make it worse?cause after this trip in two weeks im going again in abnother two weeks

ice it when you can, take advil to relieve swelling. try to stretch it and such also. but take it easy for a few days and you will be sound as a pound.

the way you worded the post made me crack up...sounded like you were 10 lol.

but just take it easy for a few weeks and you should be fine. if you want you can double up on socks or wrap your ankle and hell before you ride the next time. good luck

Happended to me on a saturday skipped sunday the nex saturady skied that sunday (8 days later) back to normal in 2 weeks

i undershot today, heels still hurt. i can walk, but it hurts, dont even want to attempt jumpin on them. im supposed to ski in 2 days, i hope im ok. lawlz. maybe i'll just film

i had a nasty heel thing this year- it hurt to walk for one week and was good to go skiing in about 10 days. i definately suggest advil when you go though. for me it actually hurt less when i put my ski boots on because i didnt have to flex the underside of my foot, so get out there and ski!

if you can still walk on it, its probably just bruised. I had something similar going on with my knee when I hit a stump in the woods, and it was better in a couple days.

when i bruised my heel i just took it easy for a few weeks. I still went skiing but i didnt go as hard. it actually felt better when i got my foot back in the boot. It will go away eventually.

i think the correct term is are your ankles broke?

and it might take a while for your heels to heal. haha heels sounds like heal. dont mind me im not actually adding anything to this thread

i bruised my heel earlier this season. just wrap it up in a way that you keep all the fat/ cushion under the ball of your foot. and ice it. also try and stay off it whenever you can

think about your question before posting.

you have 1 hour to give me 3 reason why posting on NS is easier, cheaper, and more convenient than consulting a doctor

how bout i change my argument too?

googling your symptoms and posting on a medical site does NOT equal asking a a doctor.

Ill tell u how medical advice on ns will end up!Pain! - Post - Treat - Wrong diagnosis - Miss Skiing - Post again - Wrong again - Miss skiing again - Depression - Drinking - No social life - Dope - Stop school/work(forced) - No monney - NO SKIING

Oke oke, maybe a bit pessimistic. You said you have a painfull foot under compression, People jumped to the conclusion of a bruised heel?? Really how could they tell. Then just taking advil or other medicamens against swelling is not the way to go: Swelling is your bodies mechanism to immobilize you so you rest it!
So go to a doc: He can tell u if it's just brused and needs time or someting else!

i over shot a huge jump 2 years ago,

ice and rest

you will want to rest for a bit

but ice rest and advil are going to be your friends

I overshot a jump by about a mile around early december and I ended up cracking my heel...I skied a week after I did it, never got on crutches even though my doctor had advised me to. It probably wasn't the smartest idea, but I just didn't hit jumps for a while. I cased a jump fairly bad the other day and it kinda hurt but not horribly
