today i was sking in some like waste deep powder and hit something under the snow i think it was a small tree and my ski popped off i sware i swam in this chest deep snow probding for my ski for a good solid hour! hhas this happend 2 anyone else?!

 
Last year Bridger Bowl had about a three foot dump and i had some X-Screams that day (after this incident i got the Pocket Rockets) I lost my ski carving a hard turn on the Apron and couldn't find it for the life of me, after about 30 minutes, I finally got out my avalanche probe and started hiking up my tracks. after a total of about 45 minutes, i finally found it. After it popped off, it contenued down into the snow and it was about 4 feet under when i found it.

Today when it dumped about six feet i saw people with neon streamers. they accordian folded them up and papercliped them to their snowpants so they wouldn't get in the way, but when the binding releases, the streamers unfolded to 15 feet long

yes i did....swimming through chest deep powder all alone in the woods...you start panicing cuz you dont think you can get out...you've lost your ski and your thinking what the fuck im gonna do....its not fun....therefore its a down side

 
Well its not like you cant get out, you can always do the skiing on one ski trick.

i was skiing pow at baker at my first time there and i had no idea i was going through the terrain park. I plowed into a rail which was entirley buried.

 
haha true true, i have never tried skiing one footed in that deep of snow that we got, I doubt we could even do it.

My buddy lost his Pocket Rockets the other day at Bridger also...haha, totally ate shit and double ejected, it took us so fucking long to find them. Powder cords are a good idea.

Yeah, the day after Christmas I had some waist deep pow at June. I lost my ski, but I just looked where my tracks had gone and used my other ski as a shovel to dig it out.

what sucks about powder is its so hard to resist and when its all ice on every run, you just have to go under the rope, and hten the ski patrol catches you. :)

you know whats funny, some of the people on this tread are saying 'its people like you that make this site worse' or something like that, all i have to say to that is you probably shouldnt be saying things like that when you have like 30 posts to your name. im not saying that i have a lot, but seriously.... just think about it.

This is why snowboarding is just that much better of an idea. You shit doesnt go flying every where wen you wierd ass skiers fall. So im whats wrong with this site? no asshole you are whats wrong with thsi site cuz ur ego makes u lame, very lame. Skiing wouldnt even be around ne more if it wasnt for snowboarding. Is it just me or did alot of ski companys try to make snowboard companys? see they know whos cooler, why dont you?

 
^ usually people who try and bring the whole snowboarder vs. skier thing back arent good snowboarders and dont know about the sport, talk to any amazing snowboarders, almost all give props to skiing
