Downloading music on macbooks

i dont really know a ton about computers so can someone tell me how easy it is to download free music on OSX. right now i download .rar and .zip files on my current Windows computer and i want to be able to do the same thing if i get a macbook

Download unrarX on apple's download page and you'll be good to unzip and unrar the same files
