Nower days its really hard to trust clients , its really important to protect your work . Here is some paperwork you should always have handy with you.

I encountered a fair few difficulties and misunderstandings down the road many of which were solved by tweaking the contract template I use. Therefor I suggest you read through those and make changes. You can also inbluded a headline with your name or logo , make it look more proffesional esthetically speaking.

In order to look more proffesionally aswell I suggest you get some business cards. I get mine done by this website

Business cards or not expensive, I payed mine 25$ and they can def help you get the confidence of some picky clients.Whats also interesting about them is that you can either upload your own design or get one done without having to get in touch with a designer.

I also suggest you make a website. I majored in photography practices and I know that you dont need a web designer to make a legit website. You can simply use this website ,

They have tons of free templates and its really user friendly and cheap. If im not mistaken thats what Ian Compton uses for his weak website.

Holy thanks, needed some of this stuff. Threads for computer. I have been meaning to buy buisness cards for awhile but I keep on forgetting.
 
just ordered mine, heres what I came up with!

for some reason on my web export the lips came out pink, I swear I dont do gloss and it should look normal on the printed ones.

came out a bit pricy in the end however, it adds up when you design, get gloss... came up to like 71$ tax in for 250

still worth it considering at least one of those cards will create a contract well over 71$
 
totaly worth it guys, spent 75, after only 2 days of giving cards, I got a 150$ contract ( only 1 hour work)
 
I would also like to point out the importance of setting up media. Were in the media industry guys! dont be shy to have a vimeo pro page and advertise it. Not too sure what photographers use.

Idealy have your own website, dont cheap out on it!!!! if anything, if its way cooler than you are, it will give you a good image and people will want to pay since you look pro and on top of things. For this im saving up a bit and waiting to get enough exposure for the money to be worth wile.

also there is such a huge importance to having a facebook page and passing it arround to everyone. So much of your buisness will come from here, make sure to look professional as always.

dont be afraid to give a little bit of promotions if it will bring you tonnes of shares and likes.

I personally am investing a whole lot in image, its a little thing that can seperate you from your competition and will surely get you contracts.

Good example of this: I have an event coming up, two cameras filming a live dance show in front of 700+ people and creating dvd's. I am spending extra money on renting professional looking gear on top of my own and most importantly buying custome branded t shirts for me and my crew so that we look clean and professional. I will also include a buisness card in every dvd that people buy since this is the best way to show my contact information to people who will see my quality.

in short, everything you do reflects your image and the image of your little buisness, so dont be afraid to spend a little on things that wont immediately give you money.

I took one of your photog contracts, tweaked it, and made a more video specific contract, in anyone wants it let me know.....basically the same as the one posted above, just more video specific
 
Thanks aton for this! Will defanetly come to use! I ordered business cards the other day just to see what id get, and i got 25 for like 9 bucks so that was pretty good.
