Down box/rail help

Hey guys,

So I'm new to park and pipe this year. I've got flat boxes and rails down (no 270 on/off, or switch ups or anything like that). I'm now trying to do down boxes and rails. For some reason, I can't lean forward more...Is there some sort of cheat I could do? Any tips? Also, I'm new so any form of tips having to do with anything park would help...

just come on straight and parrell with the rail and pop and keep a wide stance.
dont lean back and you will be good

dont look at your feet, you will fall. look just beyond the end of the rail, this should keep you forward enough

i just started this year man i found that like everyone says the general "athletic stance" is what you need once on the rail
gets bend the knees a bit and keep the legs shoulder length apart.
like stated aboce, dont look at your feet. lol doesnt turn out well. once im on a rail i look to where i want to land if i just want to slide it smooth.
hope that helps my man

heres the cheat

rb, lb, r3,square, triangle, L3

and u should be good with that

jkjk

keep on trying to pop of the toes of your boots more

yah like everyone else is saying you gotta keep a wide stance, bend your knees, and look at the end of the rail. then eventually when your confortable with it you can stand up straighter and toss in some steeze and some afterbang if your into that kinda stuff. good luck

This is a little early, but once I get down boxes/rails down, do you think I should move to trying to slide unnatural and do 270 ons/offs or move on to getting better at jumps?

Also a good tip i got is (sorry if my english isnt too good) but, kinda like flex your whole body like your about to take a dump while doing what all the ^ people are saying.i dont know if its legit, but that works really good for me.

Hey all you guys, all the tips I'll keep in mind. So far I haven't been able to go up, but hopefully I'll be able to go up tomorrow. Once I get the down boxes/rails down I'll probably repost again saying thx. And probably start a new thread on what to do next...I already made a comment on what to do next on this thread, but no one really answered...

dude dont ask people what to do next... do whatever you want... if you wanna be better at rails work on rails and if you wanna be better at jumps work on jumps...

didn't read the other posts so srry if this is a repeat.

I find that holding out your downhill hand really helps people lean forward more on rails. I use this whenever i see it and i'm teaching people. Also helps with unnattys i find because beginners to them tend to lean uphill.

its alllll about the wide stance. when you get used to it, you don't think of it as leaning, but rather keeping your feet a regular width apart the entire way. Just make sure your feet arent close together and you'll be golden. practice getting on urban on flat boxes/rails. basically just hop on from the side, it will make you react and get balanced rather than jumping on and hoping you stay in the middle.

Unfortunately I still haven't been able to go up yet. So i tried it on my inline skates. Is there any difference between skates and skis? caz I can do down rails on skates now

wait...i'm confused..no one said to lean back. Everyone said to lean forward. But yea, I know not to lean back..especially not on downs. While learning flat boxes thats the first thing that I figured out haha. But thx anyways

Not too wide a stance - it got Senator Larry Craig arrested :)
