There's obviously a place for worrying about technique but fuck it, skiing is about having fun. If you're having fun then you're already winning.

Sounds like this guy is jealous of the fact that you get to shred around and have fun all day. Relish in it, the fact that he can rip GS turns on his $1200 race skis means nothing.

So many kids get caught up in training and learning tricks and taking shit seriously, the best skiers I know are the ones having the most fun. If you're having fun, you will progress. Sounds like you should just avoid this asshole in future, and if he gives you shit again, say something back. Don't just let him put you down.

this just isnt true im sorry....technique is one thing but idk about anyone else, but i generally find skiing to be funnest when im actually skiing good and using the right form and what not, which translates to me skiing better. I have a blast on the slopes but i just can't stand fools who think there the shit in the terrain park and suck outside of it.
 
racers are dicks to park rats for 2 reasons

1. most good racers i know hate racing since they've been doing it forever and they're sick of it and they want to have fun skiing, so they take it out on the kids who do what they wish they could do

2. the average dumb steezed out park rat sucks at skiing and cannot for his life make a proper parallel turn without sticking his ankles together, covering his dick with his hands, and leaning back while locking his knees. this pisses off anyone who knows anything about skiing, especially racers who focus entirely on form and proper turns. that's not to say they get mad at gapers, since gapers acknowledge the fact that they suck at skiing, but loud obnoxious park kids who claim to love skiing are pretty invigorating when they don't know how to ski at all

no, he made sure he learned how to ski instead of being a passive, slightly overweight father who does nothing about the fact that his son considers skiing to be all about smoking weed and dressing like a retard and standing in the park all day chirping kids slightly worse than him but never stepping up to hit anything except one rail at the end of the run in order to meet his dumb stoner friends and flail down a groomer to make it back to the lift to smoke more weed and stand a little more and then go in the lodge and stuff his face with fries and take pictures of it on his iphone

You understand that some of us picked up skiing not at the youngest age, or lead by hand by someone teaching you the "basics"?

I ski how I ski, I develop my own way, fuck the "right" form, there isn't one in freeskiing.
 
whatever bro....have fun looking like a clown going down the slopes...also enjoy skiing down terrain that is actually dificult with your "freeski" form

dude wtf is your problem. What are you trying to prove? Wow your dad taught you how to ski? My dad did too! He was a racer, he taught me how to race, i decided i wanted to dress like a "retard" (wonderful language by the way.) and he was totally cool with that. Just because I can make carved turns doesn't make me feel like some kid who gets high and fucks around on the slope is lower than me, or less entitled to a good time. Maybe your just jealous that people who are technically worse than you just have more fun. Whatever it is just chill out. Maybe you should of had a more passive dad, instead of one that shoved a stick up your ass.
 
my dad didn't teach me how to race, he taught me how to go touring at age 8 by duct taping skins on to the front of my skis and using trekkers

i didn't race until sophomore year of high school.

thomas's dad on the other hand, well he is an intense man
