We added a new jump last night to the park. Both jumps are now 40' with a 20' side jump. Also, we're putting up new rails every night. We are hoping to get some stuff on Red-green very soon. Starting to look like a real park now. Hopefully you can come check it out.

Couple more feet of snow and we'll be full speed.

wish i could of hit those jumps today.

watch out for out of control gapers. they hurt when they slam into you when your tightening your boots on the side of the run

jumps were maddd fun... just have to look out for the gaper attacks coming traversing across the lips.

The jump line is pretty top notch. I would only say that if we were working on a better pitch, it would be easier to link up landing switch to switch-off the last jump.

Got me stoked to hit that line all day

Thanks for the feedback. New parks coming soon.

If you see a parky, say thanks for all the hard work. They'll be stoked. They've been working hard to get the new stuff dialed.

park was sick today, right up until the power went out. somehow a third jump popped up out of nowhere, a little smaller than the other two.

I will be out next week and can't wait to hit a jump line finally. Here on the east coast we are hurting bad. The resort I work at was only open for 4 days....

overshot that last table pretty damn far. got toe bang so bad my right toe-nail is about to come off. its tough skiing 3 days in a row in a boot thats a half size too small.

ya the park is lookin pretty good, I just made it up today after 2 weeks, quite fun. but when is the park getting moved or is it? I mean it seams like a lot of effort is going into kangaroo just to switch everything.....

Well, were waiting on more snow. This season is lagging and kangaroo is all we got. We'll start moving some stuff as soon as possible. We're going to make a sick park were ever we go.

Just wait, much more planned.

that comment pretty much sums up why Alpine and it's park crew are LEGIT QUCIK on it.

I was just curious, I think the park is sick, and maybe a bit steep but Id rather have it on roo. I just think it sucks in a way you guys have to build up the park, then tear it up, and move it.

As of right now, were not going to take stuff off of Kangaroo. Were just going to put more stuff other places. Don't worry, we're not losing anything. We're just expanding to new places. We need more room for new rails, more jumps, and a pipe.

You can't pack all that into Kangaroo. I know we have built good stuff there, but it's very limited. 30 second runs on roo are old. We're looking for bigger and better.

I was at alpine on tuesday and loved the park. out of all the resorts so far this season the setup is geared more towards advanced people. the rails are dope and the jumps are of good size. Roo is a bit short but for the quality of the stuff in there it's all good. I can't wait to see what you guys have in store on the rest of the mountain. What sucks is I took a fat chunk off the bottum of my ski though, pretty sure it was near roundhouse as that portion didnt have much cover. Nothing a little petex couldn't fix though :)

where are you planning on moving the new shit? is kangaroo going to have any park stuff anymore? regardless, i think all the park stuff should be accessible from the same lift so you don't have to make a decision on what lift to take. i hate decisions.

I dont think the park will ever entirely leave roo unless a new lift is put in. Sherwood & Lakeview would be great for park, but can't get that poppin' early season. other than that, I'm sure the guys are also dealing with trying not to piss off the long time customers. Can't just start stickin' jumps and rails everywhere.

Any hints on where exactly the features are going though?

We should have some features on red green and ultraviolet this weekend(snow permiting). It'll start as a intermediate jump and rail line and grow from there. As soon as we can groom kangaroo ridge wall to wall, we'll add features on low blue. Once the dust settles there we will move to terry's return. Kangaroo will stay a park for now.

If you don't know where these trails are, grab a trail map at Alpine. The new park areas are marked with a orange oval.

More features are being added every night. Come check it out.

uh no, I just think the parks sick right now and its seems like they put alot of work in just to tear it down.

i was about to suggest putting some stuff on terry's, but you guys are already on top of it!

looking forward to it all!

I think that the lip should extend a little farther on the last jump and give it a little more pop but keep the same mellow tranny. then it would be perfect. then we just need a little snow to cover this sheet ice and its game on

suggestion... during the week its fine but on weekends i noticed there was a ridiculous amount of little kids and gapers stopping on the tranny's and our of sight in the landings. i know you cant get rid of them but is there a way to like build a beginner park somewhere because if you land the first or second jump switch, its kinda scary when you're trying to get to the next jump switch while weaving around kids and worrying about landing on them.

New smaller park on red green opened today. This park will start out as a smaller line, but will grow with snow. Also, look for it to grow in length up and down hill. This is just the start of the new mile-long park. Big things in the future.

Come check it out.

Later,

sweet. i mean i dont mind the kids trying to go off jumps and what not i mean everyone has to learn somewhere but when it gets to the point where im scared of landing on someone or taking someone out and injuring them as well as myself its kinda ridiculous. im pumped for the mile long park getting underway though... hope to see it grow fast

so as I was checking out the new terrain park, I rode the lift with a bunch of people from the bay, old people, etc.... and everyone was complaining about the location of the new park....where are we going to ski? this isnt safe! .. So many people were bitching about it was ridiculous.

hahaha that is so cool. tell them that one of the chairlifts broke and that all of the rails and boxes are remaining debris. also tell them that there were four deaths in the collapsing of the old chair and that their bodies were never found.

HAHAHA, nice andy, I was just letting jonahs know, I mean I know theres going to be complaints but, I did think it was setup well, it was kinda odd going across a run instead of down but it seemed to work.

Oh yeah, there is going to be some whiners. If you're riding the chair with some, educate them on why terrain parks are important and fun. This project is for the future of the youth market at Alpine. We can't make everybody happy, but we can make a sick park that attracts more young riders and their families.

The line now goes down (left side) ultraviolet. We started on skiers left, but were going to put big jumps on the right side breakovers. We started there, so we can claim terrain below the ribbon line and make a smaller park for the kids.

If you've seen those breakovers, you'll know they are the best landings at Alpine.

The big stuff is coming soon.

Also, set a GOOD example as a park rider. There is more and more punks out there giving us a bad name every year. Alpine park riders IMO are the chillest and illest so lets make sure we are repping Alpine in a good way to all the people who might have the inclination to complain, Im sure management has their eye on us now that we arent "contained".

ya, I let em know, I was like fuck you man!!!!! go to another fucking mountain!!! this ones ours!!!!!!! BWAHAHAA. Just kidding, I just told them that Kangaroo is going to be a bit more for racing, and that its cool everyone including peeps that dont ride park need to pay attention and keep clear.
