Yeah, one of the Schrab brothers at the Windlip at Whistler around 2001 I believe. He landed way backseat and broke his skis trying to land that.

i've been pretty dormant about this shit but i'm gonna come right out and say it:

All this double flip shit is nothing but sloppy arial skiing. For the love of god, the whole newschool movement started because people wanted to get away from the old mogul and arial disciplines and not it's all going back! I can remember when people used to give shit to anyone who thought the riskyflip (d-spin to backflip) was cool. Seriously, snowboarders don't do gay ass double flips so why the fuck are skiers doing it? It's doesn't even look good!

watch jp walker, danny davis, david benedek, travis rice... all the most influent snowboarders out there are doing double flips/corks. I even saw some japanese guys try a triple backflip at the nippon open this year!

Dude balls and technic are just as important as style. I dont want to see comps with only smooth 360s. I want to see comps with some smooth moves and some gnarly shit like double flips
 
then where else should the sport progress?

The only ohter direction is more spinning- hence spin to win which we all agre is ghey.  And don't say that people can just do steezy fives forever cause that's not progression.  People always want to leanr new tricks and (in my opinion) double flips are a nice blend or style (when done right) and technicality.
