Double flip onto a rail

Double flip out has been done, flip on flip out has been done by oystein, now it's time for the double on? Is it possible? Who would be the first to do it? Just something I've wondered about for a while

No.

warning! Unpopular opinion!!!

i personally do think it should be done eventually, it is only progressing the sport. also why shouldn't it be done? I know a great deal of the skiing comunity would be stoked if someone threw a dub onto a rail. it's hard to say if you saw a video of someone doing a dub flat 810 on or a dub cork 810 you wouldn't think it was cool

The easiest would probably be a dub flat 8 or a dub misty 9 on but the thing is when you come around you come down with so much force it might even bee impossible I cant even stick a dub misty onto the foam pad at gression because you slam so hard, I can on a trampoline but onto a fairly stiff foam pad its way hard, I cant even imagine onto a rail

Are you kidding? That would be the raddest thing ever!

Remember Vanular's rodeos on in Long Story Short? That was incredible! Picture that plus 2 of them. I cannot wait.

you sound a lot like the shitty people who come up with the regulations in FIS events. fuck it, let people do what they want.

It's like a quad.....theres just so much force, one wrong move and your done. Hopefully skiing will keep the balance between skill and style.

Nah the easiest would be by far a dub backflip with a 90 at the end, like what Jesper did in supervention on that urban rail, only add a backflip before the second one. It would be fucking hard onto a thin rail though, I mean all that pressure and speed onto such a small surface would kill your feet and throw you off balance soon easily...maybe onto box? or even a fat tube? Id be stoked to see it done, I'm sure some pros would get it around, just takes some much balls...imagine nutting yourself with that flip speed....

Gus has done two different dub outs and the first one was years ago. Has anyone else done a dub out or is it STILL just him?

Zak mousseau did one. I think it was dub lincoln/misty off an up rail at momentum

I prefer the less spinning more style, but double flip on would be fucking dope. Just be happy to let the sport progress in different directions.

nah boi to blind, flats are far less blind witch is very important when landing on a 1ft diameter metal pipe

I agree, you could almost look around more on a dub flat to spot the rail, but on a dub back you're just gonna hope you can get it around, and by then if you can even get your feet to turn 90°

well first there's a few things,

you're gonna need a special built set up for this, so somebody has to invest time and money into building a rail that dub-able onto.

also there's risk and reward. could you imagine catching an edge after a dub onto a rail, because you're not coming away from that clean. It would probably take numerous tries and with the skill needed to do it how many pros are willing to huck their bodies for that and risk their career over a trick they will probably only do once. it's probably not worth it for the risk.

That being said it will probably be done eventually, probably within the next 10-15 years but I just don't see it happening any time soon

it's worth it, you'd be considered a god damn animal and go down in skiing history

but can you remember the first ever skier to flip on a rail (tip it was a box. and nobody knows him anymore).

I know he's getting older but I bet Candide would try it, dude is nuts. If not though it'll end up being one of the young guns like Jesper or Oystein

Paul Cotter, pretty sure it was a rail though. Superpark, 2001 or 2002.

Dam forgot about the road gap to rail from Cotter, he was the first one ever, tru

The sw dub 990 would be the first to be thrown down. In my mind it would also be the most floaty & steezy dub on, possible.

Why not just try it on a big PVC pipe? I dont see it that risky, of course onto a real rail it would be fucking nuts.

I think we need to up the ante a little bit

what should happen is someone should do a dub out of a rail and land on another god damn rail

if this ever happened... I just dont know something big would happen or change, I dont know what but something big would happen...

maybe something like instantly upon landing the trick this person gets assumed into heaven
