double corks?

this hot in the snowboard world and i was wondering if it can be done on skis. i have been trying off the high dive, but find myself going into misties. maybe they are impossible on skis?

what is a double cork?

...............................................................................................

a double cork is when you get corked, uncorked, and then corked again. travis rice did a 1080 double cork over chads gap.

at first they were a fluke but now he can prefect them. i think pollard does one in the unity trailer, but not sure.

hahah my friend and i were just talkin bout wether that was possible....we thought we invented it...guess not

the wilson flip is a double cork...or double invert - same thing.

well, I don't know what the hell a double invert is, but corks sure as hell aint inverted. If double invert is something else, well, then I'm wrong.

Double invert is when you do two inverts, duh...

Double corks would be possible, I guess... although you'd need a lot of air, and it would take a lot of time to perfect. I'm not sure if the end result would even look cool.

that would be crazy

Check out the trailer to Minor Threat. It features the best skiers from all over New York State (It's under the edits/shorts section or in Huckfest900's profile)

Peter: When you go on a cruise you need to build up a base tan.

Chris: But I heard that in tanning booths you can get something called Melenoma

Peter: Don't worry son that's just fancy talk for sexified.

there is no invert involved, nor is it a wilson flip. if you still dont understand it check out the lastest transworld the next time you get gas at 711. its in the travis rice interview.

yeah super style. put in a double safety ( right-left) and you got a front page spread. puts some rocks on the landing so no one else can hit it and you are a snowboarder.

Where is the Unity Trailer? Who is producing it?

if you need a 1080 to do it how does pollard do one? he has never spun more than a 7 (i think)

i saw that photo is transworld. it was sick. i was thinking the same thing too, when will skiers do it. last year my friend was learning d7s and he over hucked/rotated and he started going cork again.

^Did he proceed to land on his head?

To itsbackflippingtime and other who say you need a 1080 or any big rotation to do it this isn't true. Here's little history leason of the double cork. It's was first done but JP Walker two season's ago and is in Mack Dawg's Shakedown from last year which you should check out. JP did it with a 540. He did a cork 3 then kind of a cork 180. It's hard to explain but you can see it in that video or look at a sequence of it in the September 2003 issue of transworld snowboarding. So then Travis one upped him big time this year and threw the 1080. of course it looks a little different on a snowboard, more like a double misty but yeah a skier could do one. Ohh yeah and Mike's flip is a risky flip not a double cork. It inverted and a cork isn't really.

isnt that sort of like the wilson flip double underflip. so underflip 5 into another underflip 5. So corkt uncorkt corkt

Ok, why would you need to do 1080? Couldn't you cork 3, into another cork 3 or a cork 5?

they are def doable on skis....in the credits of second generation one of the shrab brothers doesa double misty...it was kinda lame with no steeze...as is all ofthere stuff....but kinda badass as well...he did misty seven was completely upright and just went backdown for another on

witty cent is now live on stage!

^ mike wilson did a double misty both on skiboards and skis. also scrab brother did switch back 180 into front flip off a table. double cork? hmmm i dunno how possible it is i need to think about that for a second......jacob_w : do u mean switch cork 5 into like a bio 5??? I mean its still a cork just a forward cork ...i dont think a normal cork would be possible after a switch cork 5.

BUMP!!!! i found this and thought it was funny that 6 years ago we questioned if double corks were possible and now they are the standard

nice find bro, wait till the future us finds a thread about Turpin's triple. im not looking forward to those days.

Plus it's full of pros, Jacob, Parry, Margetts, who are all clueless about it.

And I haven't heard of the Wilson flip for a long time.
