First off, I did search bar
I am attending U of U and had a few questions. Are there any places that have any DH (I heard PC does)? Anywhere to store bikes safely since everyone who bikes knows that their bikes are incredibly expensive? Are their any circuits in Utah or even remotely close to SLC that have organized downhill racing? And anyone who rides out in Utah, wanna be my biking buddy since I know no one out there?

Deer Valley has some of the best DH biking ever from what I hear. If you end up getting a PC pass for the winter, it works through the summer months for lift accessed biking. If you go to the dorms, there is actually bike storage. you have to sign up for it, but it's free. I was in Gateway heights, and in the basement of 806 (i think) was a room with those bike racks where you can hang it from the wall. You had to scan your U-card to get in, and you could lock it up in there as well. There were like 50 racks in there, and a total of about 5 bikes the whole year... while the racks outside that get the weather were always full. Must be a secret or something.

But anyway... as far as organized downhill events I'm not sure. I know Sundance Mountain (about an hour away) has some events, but I don't know the details.

Deer Valley has the principal lift access downhill in the area. Sundance, PC, and Wolf Mountain all have lift access also. The best trails are all shuttle access, places like Squaw Peak, Empire, and American Fork Canyon. There are jumps near the U in the avenues, and a super fun trail called Bobsled. There is a regional DH race series with events at Deer Valley, Sundance, BrianHead, and some a bit further away in Idaho. The best thing is to find some kids who ride and chill with them. As for bike storage, I would keep it in my dorm. The bike storage rooms are fairly secure, but I wouldn't risk it with my good bike.

call the guys at bingham cyclery or the bike shop at parks sportsman in orem. all those guys race and know all the races and spots to ride. im out of utah for the summer or i would definitely help you out.

i know threre's something because my teacher took 1st in his age group last year he raced mountian bikes and i race bmx and thats all we ever talked about. i dont know what the orginization is called but i know there is one

there are bike storage rooms in the dorms but that shit is weak cause anyone who pays for it has access to the same locker thing as you so you still have to lock it up in there and people can spend all the time cutting your lock they want since there's no one in there to catch them. In your room is the only legit place to keep a bike.

Deer valley is where it is at for lift serviced riding. I have a summer pass there hit me up if you wana go sometime. Sundance and PCMR are ok although pcmr has many old trails and unmarked trails like "red bull" that are a blast. Bobsled in slc is alot of fun but alot of work to get to with a dh rig. check out utahmountainbiking.com fourms from other info in the dh section.

www.go-ride.com the best dh shop in utah in salt lake... organize race schedule every summer called the go ride series usually 7-8 races!

tons of good trails in bountiful, deer valley has been rated top 5 bike resorts forever! and has a trail that was used on the NORBA circuit for years... but lots of really good dh trails! sundance in provo canyon has a ot of fun trails! lots uf fun stuff in slc bobsled is a must!

check out i street at the top of i street in the avenues! some fun stuff! there is also a new dh trail by the point of the mountain in vorner canyon! as well as squaw peak in provo!

ya man deer valley is the shit, super fun and ive got a summer pass too so hit me up if ya wanna shred! also who knows how to get to the empire trail? looks soo sick and want to ride it super bad...

from the u dorms, you can hop on your bike, pedal uphill a few miles (it sucks on a dh bike but man up) and go ride bobsled trail. its fun.
