Don't you wish you lived in Iran?

hidden under the government, Iran is really what i think it is... you just gotta look beyond the "towel head terrorists"

and to one of the comments in the previous page, iran is more than just desert.http://www.bamjam.net/Iran/ take a look at the pictures in these links you might learn something, or atleast enjoy the pictures.

Well your first problem was that it's fox news.

Your totally insane if you have any respect for anyone affiliated with them.

Point about underground music taken though.

i care about the Iranian people, i care about freedom, i care about not having a murderous corrupt regime who hangs people when they speak out.

guess that makes me more of a humanitarian than you?

why dont you address the idea that a country where speaking your mind can get you jailed is pretty dam close to a "hell hole"... maybe you should call up the iranian government and ask them if its ok to have an opinion on the subject....

or not.

i can have respect for ANYONE no matter the political leanings. i respect Obama, even though i whole heatedly disagree on a number of issues. maybe i am a strange breed, but i believe respect does not come with agreement or disagreement.

o and i thought the report on video was good....

makes you a damn busybody,

There are plenty of regimes that aren't fundamentally aligned with the values of the united states, but if you want a real solution for the Iranian people, the solution is going to come from an Iranian.

But

I guess if you think of Iraq as a humanitarian effort, there's no blaming your mistake here. Just remember we brought no freedom or democracy to the almost 100K Iraqi civilians killed as collateral damage.

You're making us no better than those we oppose.

o please. open your god damn eyes. your hatred blinds you.

yeah i suppose we are NO better than this:

using mentally handicapped people as weapons. (strapping bombs on them)

flying airplanes into buildings filled with innocent people.

butchering soldiers when captured.

butchering news reporters.

targeting schools with children...

o wait, no better what?

o while you're at it why dont you jump to more assumptions and try and dodge the question some more. i never brought up any sort of solution, or even Iraq. so lets keep this to the point, neither of those being it.

Ok, im going to need to bring some stoke back to this thread, pow in iran-

Yeah its snowboarding, but check the pow pow!

Misread. I do not disrespect people that agree or disagree with them. They are biast, so if you agree with them on an issue that's fine because they have one position, my point was that biast news is bullshit. You should watch an unbiast newscast before you make your decision of for or against an issue.

1. the us can drill all its own oil but they do not want to shoulder the up front cost seeing as it is very hard to get to and will be extremely costly.

2. Iran provides extremely cheap natural gas to its people, most of their transportation is powered by such methods.

3. Iran already has become a dominant force in the middle east

4. Iran is a mountain region, very rough and different climates, so no solar panels

here's my deal on it:

every country should be free to have nuclear power and use it, unless that country has explicitly stated that another country (within missile range) should not exist and calls for attacks against it. You should also need to prove that you can do it safely. AND if you can prove to not be affiliated with terrorists in any way, then i think they should have it.

This goes for everyone, not just singling out Iran here. I have no problems with them, and i'd like to go there someday. But unfortunately at the moment it seems like the only way americans will be going to iran anytime in the future is on b-52s, humvees and m1 abrams tanks

I agree, but what would you have us do? By trying to pull strings behind the scene, we've already become enemy number one to these countries. Trying to isolate them internationally has just created more tension and given Iran the desperate need for nuclear weapons so they can get that 'big boy' title and prove something to the rest of the world. What would you have us do?

"Your totally insane if you have any respect for anyone affiliated with them."

so you are "insane if you have any respect". that sounds like you have NO respect. right?

o the power of words past spoken.

it was in response to "making us no better than those we oppose"

i know this isnt Iran, but the person i was quoting tried to make off in a different direction so i corrected him.

Posting again, because I think this is the most important aspect of this issue. What action, if any, should the US take?

i didnt make this thread with the intention of saying what i thought should be done, i honestly dont know.... but rather it was to draw attention to how fucked they are over there.

it will be interesting to see in our lifetime if Israel and Iran go to war.... wouldnt really surprise me. as bad as that sounds.

war isnt an option the us is already overstretched and cannot afford it. the only thing the us can do has to be political

while i respect the fact you are "defending" your ancestrial "homeland", its rather humorous that you are able to practice your right to free speech here, while those back in your homeland are unable to do so.

the original post on this thread described how the lack of the right to the freedom of speech has silenced the art of music in a land with seemingly no separation between church and state.

america has many flaws, just as iran has many flaws. i challenge you tell me why its so awesome that iranians are being censored muscially. as if they weren't censored enough already (while you could yell "fuck george bush" in washington dc i would recommend against yelling "fuck admadinejad" in tehran).

such a crazy concept, you are clearly crazy.... NOT. here's a nice heart warming picture for you cute little compilation. (pface)

don't bother, i'm sure you're going for the pictures of the people hanging from trees.

sure it looks something like this:

05.jpg

too bad that's not in Iran

That just looks like a colloquial pinata birthday party amongst friends. Nothing to do with DevilCountry, oops, I mean Iran. Silly typos.

when was that picture taken? yeah we've done some messed up things, but we have a system in place that works to correct mistakes. your ridiculous and just plain stupid in your trumped up hate of our country, what are you even trying to say? iran has a fuckeddd up government. its plain and simple. that shit may be beautiful to us, but i doubt the majority of iranians are able to enjoy the beauty like we are from a photo...

how can you say that you have never been there, you have never lived there or been related to anywone who lives there.

my "homeland?" no its where half my fucking family lives, im not a god damn terrorist

homeland?

and how do you know they dont? i know so many people that smoke weed, i dont go over there and say yea thc related plants are illegal, you go to jail for 20 days for having under an 8th. its written in the books like that but almost never comes to that.

^word,

honestly the people you see hanging probably did something incredibly wrong, or they were gay, literally...

and i would much rather hang than be in prison getting ass raped the rest of my life.

The last mass lynching happened in 1946, that's 62 years ago if you're counting, the point is we were the ones who solved our problems, the Canadian's didn't come down and take over Washington and tell us that we need to stop being such an evil regime. We don't need to do this in the middle east.

i bet the majority of Iranian's had pride in their country before the west started fucking around in the middle east, and i bet you the majority of Iranian's don't want the US to come in and tell them how to live.

Every country goes through a period of being morally corrupt, you may think that you're morally supreme to them -- you're not. It's a different culture, let them live as they will.

I suppose i should probably make a defense of this now before someone comes and tells me that i support genocide and what not. This is not true, if you adhere to my view, you wouldn't be playing chess with foreign regimes anyways. I know lord of war isn't a history book, but it's a good example, the majority of the weapons used in the genocides of today came from the super powers of yesterday. It was our mistake to let our culture to infect these regions.

Do i want to stop the genocides-- yes of course, do i think we should perpetuate playing games with foreign regimes so that we are content with how they are run -- yes. Are there going to be conflicts and contradictions that arise -- absolutely. IMO we've got to realize we've come to the point where our intervention is wrong, the UN and the rest of the world can help take care of the serious genocides (we can provide support through that means) but the majority of our efforts to fix the world are just biting us in the ass. It's time we turn the focus of our world policing in on our selves, and figure out how we can improve our situation, regain the moral high ground we held pre-WWII and have a country that is once again worthy of something such as the statue of liberty.

I'm sorry my harsh criticisms of the US sound unpatriotic to you, however, please don't say that i hate my country, i do not. In fact it's quite the opposite, i have such a love for my country that i wish it to be the best it can be. To stand up against the status quo and be able to recognize the faults of this land takes true patriotism.
