Refuse your ballot if you feel there is no one to vote for.
Most Canadians don't know (hell I didn't know until this year) that you can actually refuse your ballot.  After they've asked you for your name/registration, and they hand you your ballot say; 'I don't want it.'  They might look at you funny because it doesn't happen too often, but they have to send it off to be counted as a 'returned ballot.'
Instead of spoilling your ballot this year (they don't count spoilled ballot, they simply cast it aside in a pile) reject it.
Hope someone out there didn't know this, or I'm going to look like a complete fool, for only finding it out this year!
