I'm having a lot of trouble with it, too, man.. I know where you're coming from. Whenever I see someone smoking I get overwhelming urges to bum one, and it's Montana, so people are smoking EVERYWHERE haha... it sucks.
The best thing I've found for me is to get toothpicks, stick one in your mouth, and kind of gnaw on it. For some reason just having something to play with is really helpful. I've found that cold turkey isn't the way to go.. there are some days where you are literally going to break something if you don't get your nicotine, and just having one completely calms your nerves and you're good to go for awhile. I've been at one or two a week for about a month now and I'll be ready to quit totally pretty soon... hope that helps.
