Don't Smoke, Kids

So, this man I know, his name is Ross, has just died. All because of stomach cancer from smoking cigarettes. He was my best friend's neighbour, but I knew him. His second wife, Moe, was such a nice lady. When I went to see her yesterday, she looked terrible. Ross had been married before and had like 5 kids, and so did Moe with another person before they got married when they were like 45. Anyway, this is really sad for me. Even though I didn't know him that personally, I still feel what it's like. My friend and I used to jump on her trampoline in her backyard and you could see into their yard, where they were usually sitting on their patio or sunroom and they would be reading the newspaper, and usually smoking. I never knew someting like this was going to happen, I didn't expect it..... But it did.. His wife is having such a hard time... it's really saddening. Anyway, this is just a message to say:

DON'T SMOKE CIGARETTES
waste of your time and money and as we all know is fucking terrible for your health.

thanks

Its just as bad for you as eating food too high in cholesterol or fat. If you do it sparingly you'll be fine with both. Don't get addicted to cigarettes, don't get addicted to McDonalds. Either of those you will die.

However I fail to buy into the whole cigarettes are the devil propaganda. I go through a pack every 2 weeks if that, I doubt this is having a very huge effect on my health. Knowingly I should quit and I probably will, its not difficult for me to quit. Its just nice after sitting in a college night class for 3 hours to walk out and spark a cigarette. Or after riding all day just to sit back and spark one up.

im fairly sure that other parts of his lifestyle contributed to STOMACH cancer more than smoking.

fatty foods high in cholesterol? alcohol?

i have no idea. i didnt get the full details i THINK it was stomach cancer. but come to think of it, he was kinda fat, old manish, but still, its sad.

yeah no doubt its sad, and i really feel for his family and friends. my grandpa died from cancer and its hard on everyone.

what I am saying is, that most likely his stomach cancer was caused by something other than cigarettes, because it just seems like it would be lung/trachael (sp) cancer

I applaud your willpower, but it doesn't work like that for most of the world. My plan was to stick to two cigarettes a day and if I broke that rule more than three times, I was going to quit permanently. But then one day you're drunk and you have 4 and it's like fuck it, no worries. And then exams come and you think "Well this is a stressful time, I can bump it to three a day for the week" and then after sex the chick asks you if you want to go grab a smoke and you don't even give it a second thought because fuck, that would be nice. And then you get addicted and you smoke half a pack a day like I do, which is still nothing compared to most smokers.

I love cigarettes, they're so calm and relaxing and tasty and epic... but they will get you addicted and they sure as hell aren't good for you. When I'm not working 3rd shift at a convenience store where my job description is to sit and stare at a wall of cigarettes for six hours out of every eight hour shift, I'll quit.

There are people I know who are addicted, its not good. What gets under my skin though is the other day this bitch at this party was telling me how bad smoking is for me when I was on the porch with my friends. I could easily tell this bitch had just gotten out of roasting herself at the tanning salon. I don't need people like that feeding me rhetoric to get me to quit because they've seen too many anti-smoking commercials.

Sure it sucks to have hypocritical people come up to you and tell you smoking is bad-- but it doesn't make their point invalid

Don't misinform your self about smoking, thinking that it is OK to smoke in moderation, don't brush over the concequences of smoking as if it is a rare side effect.

the one thing that bothers me most is that i want to see everyone provided with health care, but then i don't want to be wasting resources/money on smokers after years of sucking butts, it just seems unfair for non-smokers to have to pick up the bills for smokers. (while we don't have health care for everyone yet, this is still applicable for those who do recieve medicare, and within the insurance industry)

here's one of my favorite photos for you, it's not going to make you quit but i don't think that you could if you wanted to

believe me, i love cigarettes too.

which is why i haven't had one for 2 months! luckily now i can't stand the smell of second hand smoke and i don't even feel the need to have one when im drunk or after relations with a woman.

haha wow

Martin is also the father of 17 children, which also doesn't impress him. "Pity I didn't have anymore kids," he said with a sigh
