Dont see babel

sooooo bad. unless you like incest,a crazy mute jap girl who trys to fuck everything that moves stereotypes that show every race other then whites in a bad light and a bullshit far fetched story. its all mashed together. and its up for a buunch of fucking oscars. brad pitt was good in it. its fucking lame though i could go on but i wont , it aint worth it.

haha...I hated it too. For different reasons, but all the same, I agree that it was not enjoyable.

its a really good movie. Its pretty dark as well, but very interesting. The whole different story lines coming together (like traffic, crash, etc.) is getting a bit tiresome, but due to the premise of the movie, it works quite well.

I think you missed the point with the Japanese girl, too, if you thougt she simply tried to fuck everything that moves.

And i guess i really dont understand that the movie perpetuates "stereotypes that show every race other then whites in a bad light"

it was directed by a mexican, and produced by americans and mexicans.

And quite frankly, I dont think the movie showed white people anywhere near superior. Infact, there is a lot of despair and ignorance displayed; quite the contrary.

SPOILERS!

ok so by good plot do you mean that mute jap nympho with serious family issues or the two muslim kids who like seeing there sister strip and enjoy shooting a powerful rifle at bus's full of tourists to see if the bullets work? or the plot where the drunk illegal mexican trys to pass through a border checkpoint then runs and leaves two infant kids in the middle of a desert? is that the good plot your talking about? the movie would have been 10x better if the ony story they had was the one with cate blanchett and brad pitt. that would have been a good movie. seriously though a japanese buisnessman goes hunting in a fucking desert and then gives a gun away to some toothless goatfucker who then sells it FOR a goat then then the gun is used for target practice on random passing vehicles. stupid fucking movie. also the gay comment was quite unneccesary.

spoilers again

this was taken from rottentomatoes.com . i did not write this but i agree with it

1) seeing a 12-year-old masturbating after seeing his sister undress, a disturbing scene that is not even necessary for the plot, and the Japanese girl, forcing a dentist to molest her. I understand that she is lonely, but how desperate can you get?.

2) I understand that we are supposed to feel bad for these people, but I didn’t. It is not because I am a psychopath, but because most of the bad stuff that happened was due to the stupidity of the characters, and not some kind of misunderstanding.

Here are some examples:

1) Giving your son a rifle, and telling him to go and shoot something, doesn’t lead to good results. If you are stupid enough to do that, I shouldn’t feel sorry for you when the police comes to ask questions

2) If you are an illegal immigrant, having lived in an English-speaking country for sixteen years, and you can’t speak English, you have a problem. Again, I shouldn’t feel sorry for you,

3) If you are an illegal immigrant, and you like it in the US, coming back to mexico with two kids, isn’t a great idea. Did you think that the US government will let you go through when you come back?

4) Letting your drunk relative drive you. This has nothing to do with communication. Alcohol and gasoline do not mix, if you drink and drive, don’t be surprised that things don’t work out too well.

5) if you are trying to get into the us, and you are an illegal immigrant, crossing at a border checkpoint isn’t the smartest way to do it. How many illegal immigrant come to the us thru border checkpoints. See my point?

6) if you can’t pass a regular check at a border control, running away, isn’t very smart. Running away from police in general doesn’t work in most cases.

7) Leaving an old woman and 2 kids in the middle of the desert with no food is a very “smart” idea. Even if you were planning to come back, how are they supposed to last that long?

8) Hiring an illegal immigrant to take care of your kids and than leaving your kids with that nanny, while you go to a different country.

9) expecting the US government, to save your *** because you decided that a trip into rural morocco is very safe.

10) when the police has you surrounded, and it is shooting at you, and when you are in a middle eastern country, trying to escape is a bad idea. IF you get shot, you shouldn’t be surprised. Also, shooting back at the police usually makes them angry, making the police angry isn’t good for your health.

And other acts of stupidity from the characters

3) the links between the stories are total BS. Let’s go thru with this. What’s the connection between the drunk Mexican and the deaf Japanese girl? I’m glad you asked, so here we go: the Japanese girl has a father, who went to morocco to hunt, who gave his gun to the tour guide, who sold it to a friend, who gave it to his son, who shot a bus, whose bullet hit a lady, who is married to brad pitt and who has kids living in Los Angeles, who have a nanny from Mexico, who hasa nephew who got drunk and decided to drive to the us from mexico.

You have got to be a genius to think of this connection.

4) way too long. If you cut this movie in half it would still feel overstretched and long. What was to point, of the drugged and drunk Japanese girl jumping around for 10 minutes?

5) Horrible acting

6) Horrible plot. Other than the stupid characters, why is it important that the couple has lost a kid? Who cares that the Japanese girl plays volleyball? Why do we need to know that the 12-year old masturbates after seeing his sister? How realistic is that a Japanese cop would ask the father about a gun found in mexico?

7) the only movie that I saw people leaving in the middle. I also wanted to leave, but because I paid for those tickets, and because I wanted to see if it will get better I stayed. I should have left.

Again, I have no idea why this c***p had been nominated for 7 academy awards, when a better film, like the prestige was only nominated to two

first off, if you paid attention, they bought his 'sister' its not his blood sister. secondly how can you say americans werent portrayed in a bad light?????? did you not pay attention, especially all the little details of how americans just jumped on the assumption it was a terrorist attack against them, how they wouldnt send an ambulance because itwasnt in there best interestsss, i mean shit, i saw most of it on a bash on america, the people at the border were complete dueche bags to the hispanics, i dont no i guess there are just different takes on things. and with the japenese girl, you must have missed a looooooottttttt, there was so much emotion and 'deep'ness in that movie. i kinda liked it.

No, that really is it. What are you 14, 15? You obviously do not get the point of the movie or see what a great piece of film and cinematography work it is. Portrays racial sterotypes and shows them in a bad light? What the fuck are you talking about? Babel had a mexican director, and the movie was far from racist. It's a really depressing movie, but done very well and if your capable of understanding a pretty basic plot line, then maybe you'll gain something from watching this movie.

you're just not an intelligent person

just because you don't understand this movie nor make any attempt to understand it does not make it a bad movie.

I thought having the Japanese guy's ONLY connection to Morocco was the gun and the single "We just wanted to make sure it wasn't a black market gun" was weak and if they wanted to keep the deaf daughter's scenes in the movie they should have connected him with at least a few more lines. Rest of the movie was OK, not bad, but not stellar.
