Don't let fun-wreckers block terrain park. Please sign: http://www.petitionbuzz.com/petitions/terrainpark

Signed from Connecticut/Rhode Island. So many towns have multiple baseball fields overgrown and unused around here, I love baseball but this would be so much better

Conditions have actually been perfect for snow making in the valley. Temps have been below freezing several days and almost every night, which is all they need. Inversions like the one Boise is currently experiencing would have allowed snow makers to lay down a very thick base that would have taken forever to melt. Once Gateway Park is up and running, I believe their snow will last longer than mid-April when Bogus Basin closes. (See Hawk Island in Lansing, Michigan). And yes, we all would have been skiing, snowboarding & tubing all Thanksgiving break if the county commissioners had allowed Ryan Neptune (Planet) to build this terrain park. That's from the source.

Wanted to let you know how the urban terrain park issue went down. Ada County Commissioners continued to put up roadblocks so the park could not be built this season at Ada-Eagle Sports Complex. The snow community packed the Ada County Courthouse, dressed in ski & bike gear and testified that the snow park would be a good thing. Only NIMBYs fought it. Finally, Ada County commissioners agreed to sell the footprint of the terrain park + land the City of Eagle had improved (with bathrooms, parking lots, water tank, skate park, electricity, etc.) to Eagle. So that snow park will be built next season. Meanwhile, Ryan Neptune got tired of the BS & negotiated with Eagle Island State Park to build a small snow park there. He made enough snow in 3 days & kids have been shredding ever since. Weekly rail jams & lots of tubing, skiing and snowboarding has taken place every day since. It's small but awesome. They continually change up the features to make it fun. Thank you, Ryan Neptune & Gateway Parks for not giving up amid political BS. And thanks to everyone who signed the petition.

Stoked that Ryan Neptune & Gateway Parks were persistent enough to cut thru the political BS and will FINALLY be able to build an urban terrain park in Eagle, Idaho, just outside of Boise. Thanks to all who signed the petition, attended the (countless) public meetings & wrote letters to the editor. The City of Eagle bought the land, so Ada County will no longer be able to interfere. It's gonna be sick!

Here's the short article:

Don't live anywhere close to Idaho but still think they should build it! There's enough damn baseball diamonds in America

Eagle, Idaho will have 2 urban snow parks (terrain parks) this coming season, 1 at Eagle Island State Park focused on beginners & tubers and 1 for all levels (with small and larger features, mini-pipe, etc.). The pilot project at Eagle Island went so well, the state signed a 10-year agreement with Ryan Neptune of Gateway Parks. And the city of Eagle bought the land from Ada County at the Ada-Eagle Sports Complex so the commissioners can no longer block or control that area at all. Neptune says, if weather conditions are normal this fall, he can begin making snow in October and be open by Thanksgiving. So…good news…a year later. Thanks to all who signed the petition to support urban terrain parks. "Ride where you reside."

yupp ill try and make it out there sometime

Gateway Parks is making tons of snow & will open Sat. Nov. 22 at Eagle Sports Complex. The city of Eagle, Idaho had to buy the land from the Ada County. The county delayed this for a year, but it's all good now. Thanks to all who signed the petition last year. Gateway is adding a halfpipe, too. It will be a mini-pipe (13') at first.
