Dont know shit about bindings

alright so i just got soem new solly z12's and i wanna know the difference in bindings between ones like this

mine look like that ^^ except i have the brakes and then some metal long piece with BSLs on it.

whats the difference between 1st pic and 2nd pic

because in the 1st pic there is something coming out of the toe piece whereas in the 2nd pic there isnt.... i dont understand

this is basically what i got but i was sent what looks more like whats in that 1st pic. im not at home now but ill get some pix
 
Looks like you have system bindings then.

Those only can go on salomon skis with the "smartrack" binding rail system. They slide over a center ski rail (predrilled into the ski), and lock into place rather than drill into the ski itself.

You cannot drill those into any flat skis (so.. pretty much all twintips) - that is my understanding at least.. not sure if those rails will come off or anything, really..
 
i really dont know anything about salomon bindings, but it would seem to me that if there are BSL's marked on the track that they could be demo bindings... in which case, i would probably not use them.
