Don't get butthurt skiers

why is it that a small group of people who arent even good at skiing, nor even close to making money in the industry getting butthurt in the park when they don't land a trick (as if their life depends on it). Im sure if you actually had fun with it, you'd improve but no you have to be a negative nathan outchea. You killin the spring vibes man, get a life

Money or fame does not matter one tiny bit. One of the best things in skiing is working real hard for a trick then finally stomping it. Just because someone is temporarily upset that they didn’t land a trick, it doesn’t mean they’re not having a good time. Everyone has different ideas of fun.

Because we are a bunch of rich white kids that don’t have more serious situations in our lives to put these small failures into perspective. Only partially joking.

I feel like failing is a part of the sport. It may just be me but when I work hard, really hard for a trick and keep messing up it just feels so much better when I stick it. Now like I said it might just be me and sticking something first try is awesome as well but I think effort and perseverance really makes the experience that much better

I don't see my snowboard friends or sk8rz getting mad when they don't land a trick, most just laugh it off get up and try again i've seen manny pusses fail to land a trick on skis, they cry, they scream, throw the ski that they ejected from and everyone laughs at them for being such a puss. Like I said some of these kids are out here treating this like it's critical in the grand scheme of life that they learn how to land a trick with a funky name to it. Maybe they arent looking for money or fame but that doesnt mean they have to be a puss about not landing a trick. Is it really necessary to throw a temper tantrum when you dont land a trick? If that is your idea of FUN you must be a nutty ass person.

Look at people filming street edits. There is lots of frustration trying to get a trick and a shot.

If you're pushing it and trying a new trick it can be frustrating, especially on longer features or something with a bunch of kinks. Get the spin on or swap and then come off 3 feet early on a 40 foot rail.

Literally part of life. People have meltdowns because they hit a 50 cent golf ball into the fucking woods. IF you're trying a trick that scares you, and or you're super close to getting it, it's frustrating not to be able to put it down.

I’m sure others here can vouch for me. Has anyone seen someone throw a REAL temper tantrum on the hill?? Cmon now that’s a little rediculous. And 99% of people (skiers and boarders) I see laugh when they eat shit or something like that. The other 1 percent doesn’t laugh they just get back up lol. You must be from a weird ass mountain if you see skiers constantly “throwing temper tantrums.”

the fun in skiing for lots of people is progression... not just dicking around

I can relate to this because I have a friend who didn’t want to ski with me because the previous night I was going ham and he said I take skiing too seriously and I need to dick around more, he said I can’t do crazy stuff because I need to have more “fun” but I am having lots of fun progressing and I had to act a different way when I was skiing with him and that night sucked

I get pissed sometimes not because my life depends on it, but because I’m passionate about skiing, love what I do, and want to improve. When I’m trying a trick on film and it takes longer than it should of course I’ll be pissed, because I know I can do better. When you’re going at a trick and keep coming so close or making mistakes you normally wouldn’t, it’s frustrating. People are emotional creatures. If you’re letting someone else’s bad day skiing ruin yours, it seems like an ish you not an ish them. And maybe if someone seems pissed, don’t laugh at em, encourage em. Whenever my buddies are battling for a trick I support them, not heckle them. Sometimes u just need to take a break from a trick, other times you gotta keep goin at er. For some people letting anger out is a way to cope, while others can stay chill. Point is who gives a damn, let people do what they want as long as it isn’t directly affecting you.

I googled it, I think it basically means breaking your board into pieces out of rage. I don’t know why there’s a million YouTube videos about it

ohh i see. yeah they sure love that shit huh

No one who isn’t a pro should ever get seriously pissed about not landing a trick. Nothing I’d hate more than watching a skier ruin a fun day by not landing a trick

It's just self satisfaction.

Same thing in surfing if you don't make a barrel you start cursing yourself for being too deep.

And in skating too, I can remember when I was trying to land my first kickflip. Trying over and over.. Fucking hell cunt... Fuck. *throws board* Fuck me dead.. FUCK.

Then when you land it the satisfaction is so high.

Nothing to do with money or life depending on it.

When I'm trying something new the first couple times I fall or come off early I might laugh and ski it off, but its when ive tried the same trick or long rail all day and im still not getting it I will start to curse and get frustrated with myself. No I'm not going to have a temper tantrum and throw my ski but I wont be smiling thats for sure. It has nothing to do with just skiing it has to do with all sports in general (missing a tackle in football you know you could've made)

I’ll be impressed when I see someone “focus” a ski like a skateboard

It's much harder to break a ski. The wheels on a skate deck provide the perfect set up for breaking the board. There is definitely a lot of footage out of people throwing skis at rails, walls, the ground with enough force to cause damage. Also there are poles to break for anger release. That happens a lot.

stop worrying about pointless shit like this haha who cares

I definetly have gotten upset that I suck before haha like when I was learning to slide rails that were kinked and curvy and tall n shit like dam I should have gotten that one or I get pissed that I mucked up an easy trick, but like the vast majority of the time I am riding I have the Biggest smile on and I love it even when I crash which I do alot so I feel like its just a mood thing sometimes I take my anger from the week out when I am skiing nbd

why is it that a one person who arent even good at forums, nor even close to making quality threads on the newschoolers is getting butthurt in the forums when other people are frustrated they don't land a trick (as if his life depends on it).
