Don't Buy the Hype, Fraud Camera Site.

I like a good deal, just like everyone else, and sometimes I buy into the hype of a sick price before I read further so here's my heads up to you.

Do not buy anything from ACameraPackages.com

I bought a camera body from them early yesterday morning (like 500 dollars off regular price), and paid for express overnight shipping (My other camera body officially kicked the can). I felt hesitant about the order because it was a fairly simple site, but assumed it was a smaller business, maybe new, and purchased anyways.

After getting out of class 12 hours later and nothing having happened with my order, I looked at saw my card was being processed "offline" and there was really no information on my invoice. Started digging and noticed several buttons did not click on the site.

Their "store locations" are all Home Depot's in Southern Florida, but they say they're in Brooklyn, and you have to call a Los Angeles phone number to contact them.

That's when I found several people who purchased from this company, then started receiving fraudulent charges on their card, getting sent the wrong equipment, "grey market" equipment, or nothing at all. They call you and try to up-sell you a different camera then claim the one you ordered is out of stock, etc.

Basically, I'm stupid, cancelled my card before the charge went through and bought the higher priced camera from a reliable site, like I should have in the first place.

But don't be me, check your sources, don't get screwed. Don't be an idiot.

Also NEVER buy from Abes of Maine, it is a scam. Luckily I never ended up buying anything from them, but I almost did until I read reviews.

I repeat, do not buy from Abes of Maine

Yo that sucks Sorry to hear that. if you ever feel effy about a site check for a copy right at the bottom of the page. if they are fake they aren't worried about people stealing their name or web domain because they aren't real and they just remake the page.

Not trying to be an asshole, but I could have told you that site was a scam the second I saw the homepage.

The home page looks like digital rev's shop site and they're not a scam haha. Plus to be fair appearances can be deceiving... cameraquest's site literally looked like the sketchiest piece of shit to grace the internet, but they're the one of the only voigtlander dealers in the US.

But anyways yeah, do your research before dropping loads of dough! A lot of the bait and switch stores will call you after you purchase and tell you oh it doesnt include an official battery or something absurd like that and then jack up the price to higher than normal + tkaes forever to get your money back. sorry that had to happen to ya,

Adorama

B&H

LensAuthority

Those are the only sites I'll buy from.

Usually me too! I was nervous about the high price tag though, went with something that I thought would make me feel better. lol obviously not. Went back and bought it from B&H like I should have.

Yeah the site I order my prints from looks very low quality but they're local and spend less of their budget trying to pursue online sales so they look "fake". So I gave benefit of the doubt.

And luckily I caught the charge before it went to my card, and apparently as a member of Chase banking, not only are you covered on fraud but they'll even dispute the charge for you, but the one of the other reviews I read had yet to get their money back. Such a shitty lesson.

I usually stick with bh mostly

Something like 10 years ago in high school I came pretty close to buying a camera off one of those sites that did the "oh you didn't buy enough bullshit so we're going to pretend it's out of stock". I don't think they fucked with anyone to hard but saw some reviews and bailed.

Like everyone always says, if it's too good to be true, it's not a lot of times. Hopefully you get refunded and don't have too many problems. With things. Luckily you caught it early.

yup. I fell for this. Took me a month and a half to get my camera and a lot of work. Dont ever buy from them. Shoulda looked at reviews.
